SoccerProject v2 — what happens, and one thing to do now.
It has taken a short while, but here it is. SoccerProject v2 is coming: a new look, a mobile version and
a few new features, but largely the same game we all enjoy, in a new jacket.
One thing to do now: check your e-mail address. Open your account page and see whether the
address on it is one you can still read. In v2 that address is your login name. You can only
change it here in v1, while v1 is running. If the address is old or wrong, you will not get into
v2, and we cannot fix that for you afterwards.
Before we make the change, we run a beta test for a few weeks. It is invitation only and it holds
64 clubs. The test world is deleted afterwards: nothing that happens in it carries over.
You can now also find us on X and Instagram: @SoccerProject. Screenshots of v2 appear there first.
Follow us — a like or a share helps more than you think, because that is how new managers find the game.
Questions belong in the forum thread attached to this message. We will follow the thread and post
answers there from time to time.

SoccerProject: Can you manage it ?
Re: SoccerProject v2 — what happens, and one thing to do now.
Wow, man, you just can not measure my expectations now, I have been waiting for this for almost 20 years

Will all teams be deleted and we all start from 0 or will they be kept?
A trophy carries dust. Memories last forever.
Re: SoccerProject v2 — what happens, and one thing to do now.
For me, it’s been 22 years of Soccer Project! Plus time as a beta tester until 2014. Good times.

Thanks for your enthusiasm!
I know it may not have looked like it, but we never gave up on the dream.

Re: SoccerProject v2 — what happens, and one thing to do now.
We’ve tried our very best to make the transition as smooth as possible, and yes, the teams will be kept. That said, some things will change, so we can’t promise that absolutely everything will remain exactly as it is now.

Wow, 22 years! It’s honestly hard to imagine so many of you have kept going for so long. And even those short beta-testing days count! Really appreciate that.

Firstly, thank you for informing about v2, at least we know that the developers are still around.
Now some comments and feedback: -
1. Why is it necessary to login via email address? We have to type in a long email address to login. What's the rationale vs using username - which is much shorter? I dont see other online soccer manager use email address as login.
2. I hope the developers can be more proactive in informing us on errors and issues. In the recent server error (for more than 1 day), no detailed communication on the issue was provided. We dont know the actual cause even till now.
3. Will there be improvements to the player skills deterioration? The fact that outfield players lose their playing skills after age 31 is very unreal. You see both Ronaldo and Messi are very old (> 38 yrs), but they still can play in World Cup, etc.

Re: SoccerProject v2 — what happens, and one thing to do now.
After so many years, really exciting news.. you have to be careful with this kind of news because there are a lot of older players here..
This game has a long life mostly because of its simplicity, the patience required in playing and the long-term dedication. For this reason, it seems to me that most of the managers currently playing are over 40. The new generations simply do not have that patience and dedication.
I hope that this new version will make the necessary compromise between the two generations and that we will continue to enjoy playing it and in slightly larger numbers..
In any case, good luck to everyone

Re: SoccerProject v2 — what happens, and one thing to do now.
I imagine we will need the email address when we set up the mobile app, to recover our team here.
It's not like we will log in every time on the mobile app, it's not like on the browser.
Oh, come on, the server issues are quite rare, and the last one was handled smoothly. Why do you need to know the cause of the problem? How does that help you?
My understanding is that there will not be big changes in the game engine. So I would not have this kind of hope. And frankly, if there are changes to the game engine, there are huge lists of suggestions here on the forum, so very difficult to deal with that.
But we will get a mobile app AND live games, this is something huge

This is awesome! I've been hearing rumors about this but i thought it will never happen. Looking forward for v2.
PS: hope you guys still have email addresses from former managers who quit in the meantime. I know many of them quit precisely for the lack of development in v1 and i'm sure many of them would give v2 a shot, especially with the app being launched. Hope my friend Ben reconsiders his recent retirement from the game and returns.
