A quick overview from my end.

QF1: FC Remedy (NED) vs S.S. Wallachs (ROM)
Romanian team is a clear favorite of this battle - although they play against leading team of the historical table, this is one of the worst season of FC Remedy so far. Dutch team always qualified to the play-offs, but in last 5 seasons they couldn't get through to the Semifinals. Right now they're not even in the role of favorite - but on the other hand remedy73 is a very experienced manager, so let's see if we get any surprise here. Wallachs finished 3rd last season and the expectations for this season are even higher.

QF2: SAMPDORIA (BUL) - U.C.SAMPDORIA (BUL)
Bulgarian derby between two teams with very similar name. Favorite of this battle is quite clear - U.C. is currently on the top of SP A division, they finished second in last season and I believe their target is very similar. The other SAMPDORIA plays only their second season - last time they finished in QF in season 6, this time they will probably repeat that result. However, this will not be a clear and easy game for a favorite.

QF3: Viastore (CZE) - BALKI (SVK)
Czechoslovak derby has no clear favorite, but I personally see higher chances for BALKI. They can be quite happy with the results of QF draw which gives them solid chances to continue their journey of dream. In case of success, it would be a first appearance of Slovak team in Top 4 since Last Mohycan's title in season 6.

QF4: FC Jazero (SVK) - rogiboys (BEL)
This is a second QF appearance for FC Jazero and it's coming after a very long break - previously they qualified to play-offs in the very first SPCL season. If they play their best, they could continue even further, but the favorite here is rogiboys. Although they're fighting to survive in A division this season, it's still a very solid team with experienced manager. The extra motivation for Belgian manager is as well a 3rd position in the historical ranking. They can get this position in case they'll end up in top 3 this season.

No big surprises in Quarterfinal yet.

QF1: S.S. Wallachs confirmed the expectations and they won both games against FC Remedy. It was a very dramatic battle, Remedy played their best game - in the first leg they played 145 home. But still it wasn't enough - Romanian team played 146 and took an away victory 1:0. In the second game, favorite of this battle won 2:1 (143 - 141).

QF2: Bulgarian derby finished with two 1:0 victories for the favorite - U.C.SAMPDORIA. In both legs, they played 147, which is so far the best performance of this round. The first leg of the game at the stadium of SAMPDORIA has the highest attendance in this season - 14 370 fans.

QF3: As I wrote before the games, BALKI was a bit lucky with the draw - so they're continuing their amazing journey. In the first leg, Slovak team won 4:1 at the stadium of Viastore - and that game basically decided. With the 10th victory of the season (2:1) BALKI completed the round with total score 6:2.

QF4 is not yet completed, the final result will be known tomorrow. rogiboys started with a home win 3:2, which is a tricky one. They played 6 points higher than FC Jazero, but if Slovak team wins 1:0 or 2:1, they'll go through to SF.

The QF round was completed yesterday - after playing a 1:1 draw at the stadium of FC Jazero, rogiboys are the last team joining the Semifinal round.

This is what we can expect in upcoming weekend.

SF1: S.S. Wallachs vs U.C.SAMPDORIA
A clash of two biggest favorites is coming earlier than they would deserve. One of the two top performing teams in SPCL11 will fight "only" for bronze medal. S.S. Wallachs are holding this season's highest performance so far (150) and they are un-defeated this season. But now Romanian team will face the most difficult opponent - U.C.SAMPDORIA is a fresh champion of the 78th SP season and within the A division, Bulgarian team got 4 points against Wallachs. Here we're also repeating a Semifinal game from last SPCL season - in a very dramatic battle, U.C. SAMPDORIA succeeded after two 1:1 draws only thanks to a minimum difference in the performance (+1). Bulgarian team is a small favorite again now, but we can expect very dramatic games. I would see the chances very close to 50-50.

SF2: BALKI vs rogiboys
Last time I wrote that this is the first time in SPCL history we have team seeded from 4th pot (lowest) qualified to Quarterfinal round. And that journey is not over yet. BALKI is showing quite constant performances in this season, so they deserved to be in TOP4. If they play their best, they can even fight for gold. On the other hand, we have on of the very traditional teams of SPCL - rogiboys. It's their 7th appearance in the tournament, they have one gold and one bronze medal, three QF appearances and only once they were missing in the play-offs (season 2). In current A division, Belgian team is still fighting to survive and the last round will decide if they'll play A or B next season (rogiboys is currently holding 11th position with the same amount of points than 10th team). In case they succeed in this round, they will move up in the historical ranking - rogiboys would replace Chelsea champion on 3rd position. This will be also a dramatic battle, with slightly higher chances for Belgians.

U.C.SAMPDORIA won the Semifinal battle!
First Semifinal has been completed - similarly to last season, U.C.SAMPDORIA was able to beat S.S. Wallachs, but it was again a very dramatic battle. And I can say that Romanian team is very unlucky. For the second time in a row, they lost only due to 1 point difference in the sum of lineratings. Last season both games ended 1:1, this season both team won their home games 2:1. While S.S. Wallachs won with +2 difference, the second leg finished with a victory of Bulgarian team (after +3 on performance). U.C.SAMPDORIA also played the top performance of this season - 151! I can say, it's a very long time since we had such a performance in the tournament - we didn't see that in last 7 seasons!

SF2 games will be played on Saturday and Sunday. I'll update you afer they're completed.

Thanks to the whole fanclub behind me, so we won our 2 games in the semi-finales (with low TS).
So in the general ranking, the third place is my place now.
Normally, in the final i lose, but with my whole fanclub is everything possible.

Right - so rogiboys ended the amazing winning series of BALKI. After two 1:0 victories, Belgian team will fight for the Trophy. It was a well deserved victory, rogiboys played a bit better in both games (+2 in both games). BALKI didn't show their best games - in the first leg they only played 136 - the lowest performance of the Semifinal round.

THIRD PLACE MATCH: S.S. Wallachs (ROM) - BALKI (SVK)
The favorite is very clear here. S.S. Wallachs had probably higher ambitions and they were also very close to the Final round, but similarly to last season, they lost thanks to the 1 point difference in line ratings. In the last season, Romanian team took the bronze medal - and now they are expected to repeat that result. BALKI has a very good season, getting into the Final four is really a great achievement for the team. In case they play their best and maybe have some bit of luck as well, they can still try to surprise one more time.

FINAL: U.C.SAMPDORIA (BUL) - rogiboys (BEL)
Bulgarian team finished second last season after losing against Chelsea champion in a dramatic battle. Now they are a big favorite of this season's final. In last round they played 151, U.C.SAMPDORIA is also a fresh champion of SP A-division. While their opponent finished 10th - and saved the A-division only thanks to a victory in last round. rogiboys is one of the most traditional teams of SPCL - but out of 7 appearances, this is their "only" second fight for a title. Previously, they played Final round in season 9 and they took the trophy after beating Chelsea champion. Now they're facing another Bulgarian opponent and rogiboys will play an outsider role. Although the expectations are quite clear here, I wouldn't be surprised to see two dramatic games.

U.C.SAMPDORIA gets the Trophy!
Bulgarian team confirmed the expectations and they took two easy wins. As rohalt mentioned, his team didn't play with the highest spirit and that impacted the performance.
In the first leg, U.C.SAMPDORIA won 1:0 away after showing the best away performance of the season - 149! Belgian team played significantly lower (133), but their defending tactics resulted in "only" one received goal.
The second leg looked very similar, this time it also resulted in slightly bigger goal difference. With the total score 4:1, Bulgarian team can celebrate the victory in 11th season!

The third place game will be completed next week. After the first leg, S.S. Wallachs are closer to the medal - as they won 1:0 home. BALKI is still in the game, but they will need to really show their best in their home game.

Today's game between BALKI and S.S. Wallachs ended 11th season of SPCL.

In the first leg, BALKI lost 0:1 away with a small difference in performance (140 - 142), so they still had some chances today. But, Slovak team gave up the game before the start of the game - and after showing their lowest performance of their very successful season (117), they lost 1:4.
S.S. Wallachs repeated their last season result - 3rd place is a very good result, although I believe Romanian team wanted to finished better.

Congratz to medailists and as well thanks to all managers for a good participation in yet another season.

I have to say, it was an interesting season. After quite long time, we could see some top performances (151), a great surprising ride of BALKI from the Qualification through to the TOP4. The highlight of the season was probably the Semifinal between U.C.SAMPDORIA and S.S. Wallachs with an average performance 147,75!
We also had some negatives - unfortunately some teams were going through the reconstruction and therefore we saw some very low performances in the Group stage. And as well, this was a last appearance for FC Remedy for some time - the Dutch team managed to stay on a top of SP for ages and thanks to that they participated in all 11 season of SPCL - although in last 6 seasons they couldn't reach the TOP4. With last season's result, they strenghten the leading position in historical rank. After 11 seasons, FC Remedy is leading the table with 37 points, 5 points ahead of Noldor.
After a very successful season and silver medal, rogiboys are now holding 3rd position (28,25 pts). Chelsea champion missed the season, so they moved down to 4th position (26). And thanks to very good results in last two seasons (silver, gold), U.C.SAMPDORIA entered TOP5 - they are just 4 points behind Chelsea champion - in case they stay on top of SP for 2 more seasons, they can get even higher.

The TOP3 of Country ranking stays unchanged after this season. Czech republic is still leading the rank, although this wasn't very successful season for them - they only had one team in QF (Viastore). Second place goes to Belgium, third to Bulgaria. Thanks to a good result of BALKI (4th position) and as well some points collected by FC Jazero (QF), Slovakia moved one position up to 4th place - replacing Netherlands.

Although I had quite busy times at home & work in last months, I'll try to keep the tournament alive. The nomination criteria would be based on the result of ongoing season 79. As the season just started, it's difficult to say what we could expect next. But we could definitely still see some of the successful teams of last seasons like U.C.SAMPDORIA, S.S. Wallachs or BALKI. And looking at the two top divisions, I hope we will get some teams back to SPCL - for example The Last Mohycan (winner of seasons 5 & 6), Chelsea champion (1 x winner, 2 x silver medal), AquaAzzurri (5 appearances), lesbuffalos. Plus on top, I'll do my best to get my team ready for next season. And last but not least - I see that Noldor is on a journey back to the top of SP again - so we might see them soon in SPCL as well

Hi all,
79th SP season has just finished and that means I can start the preparation of SPCL12! The first round of invitations to managers who ended on top positions has been sent out (1. - 3. place in A, 1. - 2. place in B, Winners of C). Tomorrow the second wave of invites will be sent to other managers, I hope next week the list of participants could be completed.

SPCL12 Update: The list of participants will be frozen tomorrow noon. Right now we have 16 teams included - so unless any addition comes by tomorrow, we'll go without Qualification round.

I am bringing one of the old nomination criterias that I used in the early seasons of this tournament - a Wild card for teams that are not meeting nomination criterias (based on their league rankings), but would be interested to join. Of course, they need to have enough quality to compete with their opponents, so they should be able to play over 140.

SEASON 12

All teams onboarded now, so it's time to kick-off the tournament. As we have no qualification round, this season will start already next week. The group stage draw will be published next Monday (including the group stage game schedule).

Out of 16 teams, we have 8 new joiners and 8 teams with SPCL appearances. Due to ongoing and upcoming team reconstructions, we'll not see some of our stable teams - FC Remedy (11 appearances), rogiboys (7) or S.S. Wallachs (two bronze medals in last two seasons). 5 teams will be representing A division and 7 teams will represent B division(s).
The biggest favorites of this season will be U.C.SAMPDORIA and The Last Mohycan - the winner of last SPCL season and as well winner of last season of A division will try to get into the 3rd final in the row. The only team in the history who played 3 finals in the row is Noldor. After a very long break, Swedish team is getting back to the tournament - this team gets a wild-card this season, although they played E division, their potential is very big and as a team seeded in the lowest pot, they can go far this season. The Last Mohycan is one of the two teams who managed to win two seasons in a row (the other one was Noldor).
The other teams who already played are - SAMPDORIA (2 appearances, both times in Quarterfinals), BALKI (two appearances, 4th place last season), Viastore (2 appearances - one time in QF), Red Bull FC (1 appearance - QF) and my team FC Rovinka (4 appearances - one bronze medal).

We have 7 countries included in the season - Slovakia (4 teams), Czech Republic (3), Netherlands (3), Bulgaria (2), Lithuania (2), Belgium (1) and Sweden (1).
