SP CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - SEASON 4

Welcome to the 4th season of SP Champions league. Below you can find all the details about the schedules & results. We have 16 teams on board, which will be split into 4 pots based on their standings in SP season 62. The draw will be held during next week and published in this topic. First games will be played during the first week of season 64.

Group stage final standings:

Hi everyone,
so as you can see above, the list for group stage is finalized. We will again see both former CL winners in the game, but this season it seems that there are no clear favorites - so we might see someone new on the top.
The number of countries have again increased and now we have 13 countries of Europe in competition - for the first time we will see teams from Spain and Ireland (although it's not a proper Irish team In terms of teams this will be a first appearance for 8 teams - so this season is quite a refreshed one.

I will do the draw early next week, starting from POT4 - the rule is that we can't have two teams representing one country in the same group. This season the only risk here we have for Belgium where we have one team in POT1 and another one in POT2. Although Slovakia & Romania also have two teams in the competition, they are sitting in the same pot (ROM in POT2, SVK in POT3) and therefore cannot be drawn into one group.

Especially for new teams in competition, once the next SP season starts, you can start planning your home games according to the calendar. Ideally the games should be played always from Friday to Sunday, but in case of need we can be flexible on exceptions. Please note that round 3 & 4 will be played within the same weekend. yes - this season seem to be more balanced, hard to say who will take the trophy. And I am curious what surprises this season brings
some nominated teams declined either because they don't have enough time for the game or they are in some other leagues/tournaments during the weekend. and in some cases managers started team reconstruction after season 62, so they didn't want to join in current situation (like U.C.SAMPDORIA).

Group stage's first round has been completed today - all results can be found in the top post of this forum. Both former winners of the competition started their 4th season successfully - Remedy won 2:1 against FK Kabelwerk and Noldor won 3:2 against Avrig United.
Belgian team Spicy's all-star also started their journey perfectly - with victory 6:1 against Ciuk Bataii. It was a great game for Pircher who scored 5 goals!

Well, good point - to be honest during the previous season I was thinking to stop/pause the competition for a while, as many top teams were not interested to join. At the end I changed my mind and tried another season - with a similar struggle to get 16 teams on board. I see some teams are old / getting into reconstruction (your and remedy's team, Chelsea champion, U.C.SAMPDORIA etc), some others either had not enough free time or they play another competitions during weekends. So, this might be a last season, at least for a while.. Or at least, organized by myself

I'm not sure i will raise the bar in my next match but with a certain victory i didn't get my best ratings against Ciuk Bataii.

You can now find updated results, tables & top scorers after round 4 - sorry for delay, I was quite busy this week.
Noldor is getting close to win group D - it's the only team with 4 victories. In the same group we are still missing two games between Avrig United and Fist Team - although Fist Team sent an invitation for the home game, Avrig United haven't accepted. If I don't see any reaction from Avrig United till next Monday (15/06), Fist Team will get two easy victories (3:0). In other three groups - AC Draha Prague, FC Remedy and Spicy's all-star are leading their groups with 10 points.

We continue with 5th round this weekend, which can already confirm some teams to be qualified for QF. Good luck everyone
