Results of 5th round updated - see above. Before the last round, we already know 6 teams which will qualify to the QF. In group D - Noldor won all 5 games and at the moment they are leading the table with 5 points advantage. At the moment, Fist Team sits on second place with 10 points (7 points ahead of 3rd position) - so with the first appearance in the competition, they will play the QF. In remaining three groups - all leading teams collected 13 points so far and it's clear that they cannot lose they leading position. Second place is already clear in group B - for the first time we will have FK Kabelwerk in QF round.
I can also see 99% chance that juvent will qualify to QF from group C - thanks to the latest victory away at Sinite, juvent is now 1 point ahead and according to the schedule they will play against Ciuk Bataii in the last round (although the manager seems to be not active in last weeks, so it might also be easy 3:0 without fighting).
So the only really open situation is now on the 2nd position in group A - this below right now to lithuanian team FC Vilkai, while MFK Zemplin Michalovce is one point behind. The last games will then decide who will succeed - both teams play away, FC Vilkai at the stadium of the group winner, while MFK plays at Zapora.

Games of last group stage's round updated, including final standings and top scorers after group stage.

The full play-off draw has been published, so all managers can start sending invitations for their QF games - first leg is scheduled already for upcoming weekend. Here is the schedule of QF leg 1:

Quarterfinals, leg 1: Fri 26 Jun - Sun 28 Jun
QF1: FK Kabelwerk (AUT) - AC Draha Prague (CZE)
QF2: juvent (SVK) - Noldor (SWE)
QF3: Vilkai (LIT) - Spicy's all-star (BEL)
QF4: Fist Team (ESP) - FC Remedy (NED)

I can say that Noldor and FC Remedy will play QF games for 4th time already - these are the only two winners of first three seasons. On the other hand - some teams managed to qualify to QF round in their first appearance in the competition - AC Draha Prague, Vilkai, Spicy's all-star and Fist Team. For the first time we will have representatives from Austria and Spain in play-offs.

Looking at the group stage I can see one really interesting thing - Bulgarian team Sinite finished 3rd in group C with 2 victories, 1 draw and 3 losses, but score 10:3!

Anyway - good luck to all teams qualified to TOP8 and thanks for the remaining managers to join the competition.

First QF weekend is over and we already know first team qualified to Semifinals - FC Remedy won both games agains spanish Fist Team during last weekend with total score 5:3. Both games between Noldor and juvent are scheduled for next Sunday.
Two remaining QF games shown away victories of group winners - AC Draha Prague won 2:1 at FK Kabelwerk, while Spicy's all-star made the same result at the stadium of FC Vilkai. That means so far no surprises.

One interesting fact to add - Fist Team made a new record in attendance in their home game against FC Remedy - 15.397 fans on the stadium! Previous top attendance was in season 2 - 12.334 fans.

1st match:

Spicy's all-star 1 - 1 Noldor (142 - 144)

After direct red card in 64.min of the Spicy's player I have managed my team to lucky draw. Second match is prepared in the last simulation of this season ;-)

2nd match:

Noldor 2 - 2 Spicy's all-star (144 - 144)

It was very nice and dramatic final! Finally the more lucky was Spicy, who wins 4th season of Champions League thanks to more scored goals in away stadium.

By this silver medal I've completed my medal balance (2x gold, 1x silver, 1x brozne) and that's all from my side.

Congratulations to The Amazing Spicy to the amazing victory! ;-)

And thanks to all teams which played, and especially to Gregoric for perfect organisation! :-)

Congratulations to Spicy's all-star - great win in their first appearance in the competition. It was really a dramatic final and both teams would deserve to win this season, as they came through the whole season without any loss: Noldor finished their 4th season with 10 victories and 2 draws, while Spicy's all star had 9 victories and 3 draws. Winning team takes also a trophy for a top scorer - Geovanny Garcia scored 10 goals.

Third place goes to another novice in the competition - AC Draha Prague. They won the bronze medal without any fight, as FC Remedy didn't show any interest to finalize the season..

This season brought one positive record - the highest attendance 15.397.
On the negative side, this season brought lower performances - for the first time no team could reach 150 - home & away maximum performance records this season are 146.

Thanks to all teams that participated, I hope you enjoyed the tournament.

Remedy is on longer holiday. Is it still possible to arrange games against AC Draha Prague?

Well, if they both agree and find some reasonable timings, I am ok with it...

I'm back from my well deserved holiday :D

But I agree with a 3rd place for AC Draha Prague. It would not be fair to play for the 3rd place, because AC Draha Prague started to rebuild his team. And actually I don't think I deserve a match for the 3rd place after my performances in the semi-final. For the 5th edition I'll do anything again to win the CL :P

As the second part of 65th SP season started, I think it's the right time to write something about the SPCL. After last season I wanted to quit/pause organizing the tournament, but I will give another try to see if the quality goes up again - so if it also makes sense to keep this competition alive.

To really improve the quality, I had to rethink the rules for qualification. So we will have more accurate results for nominations - invitations for next season (which will be played during season 66) will be sent based on the results in actual season (65). In the past there was one season gap (e. g. invitations for SPCL4 played in s64 were based on s62 results). However this gives a bit less time to organize everything, therefore also the nomination system will be changed a bit. So the logic for invitation sending will be following.
After the last round of season 65 (this will be played on 10/9), I will start the preparation of the team ranks and then immediately I will be sending invitations. Once I have 16 managers subscribed (first come - first serve) - the nomination for group stage is finished and no further subscriptions are taken into the game.
In order to get the best quality, I will be sending invitations in waves, first to top teams & champions so they will have more time to respond. It will look like this:

wave 1 - invitations will be sent to winner of last SPCL season, top 3 teams of A, top 2 teams of B and winners of C divisions (18 teams in total)
wave 2 - 4. - 7. place in A, 3. - 5. place in B, 2. - 3. place in C divisions (additional 31 teams)
wave 3 (if needed) - 8. - 10. place in A (3 teams) plus country representatives in B/C divisions (countries which are not touched by previous waves)
wave 4 (if needed) - winners of D (27 teams)

The gap between each wave will be 2-3 days.

In the past we had a limitation of 3 teams playing under one flag (country), and these teams couldn't play against each other in group stage. At least for next season I will not apply this rule.

So, that's it for now - I will open a new topic at the end of season 65 with regular updates about the nominations.
