I appreciate that you go for season 5. It's by far the best organized tournament of the last 10-20 seasons of SP. Really a good job. You are important for the joy of many managers playing SP. Be aware of that! :D

The changes in the qualification of the CL is a good thing. Ofcourse only the best teams must play in the CL and ofcourse they should make the highest possible lr's to beat their opponents. Only in future the topteams will be less good than in history, because there are less good players in the game. Don't expect teams will ever reach 155's or 156's again.

This season I'll finish in A on spot 9 or 10 (at least I hope I will :P ), so I'll be in wave 3. The chance of being invited to the CL will be very small. So most likely I'll be just a supporter of next tournament :D

thanks remedy!
I know that the number of managers is getting less and that also means less players on a market - but I still believe that in SPCL the top games should bring performances over 150.
Anyway, let's see how it goes - but based on my experience from last seasons, if you finish as expected, you will still have some chance to join - I expect many managers will ingore / reject. And some can react slowly :)
This time I also have a chance to play (finally) - so that would make the tournament even more interesting for me ;)

Ofcourse you must join your own tournament ;)
As you are the organizing team, you're always directly placed, just as the former winner/champion :P

I'm thinking about starting a tournament for champions in the remaining divisions (D, E, F). More news in september...

That would be great - I was also thinking about something similar in the past (when I kicked out the first SPCL season), but I simply had no chance to work on both tournaments.. Good luck with that ;)

Season 65 is coming to the end and after the next game I will know the full list of teams which qualify to the 5th season of SP Champions league. As written recently, the invitations will go in few waves to give more time to react to the best teams.
The invitations for wave 1 will go on Thursday once the final standings in A,B,C are known - so following 18 teams can expect SP message from myself:
- Winner of SPCL season 4: Spicy's all-stars (1)
- Top 3 teams of division A (3)
- Top 2 teams of B divisions (5 - as Spicy's all-star is listed already as winner of last season)
- Winners of C divisions (9)

I sent the invitations of wave 1, 2 and 3 over the weekend and I can say that I was surprised how quickly teams reacted - especially in the 2. and 3. wave :)

Right now I have 17 teams subscribed and therefore, we will have one qualification round (similarly to the first season). I will give all other managers who haven't responded yet to do so till tomorrow (Tuesday) 10am - then I'll close the list of participants. Then - the teams who responded latest will be drawn into a qualification and they will play home/away battle to get into the group stage. The games will be played in the first weekend of next SP season -> September 25. - 27.

Looking at the current list, I can say we will have only few teams with experience from previous seasons:
- FC Remedy (played all seasons, winner of season 1 and finalist of season 2)
- Spicy's all-star - they played in last season for the first time - and it was a very successful season, because Spicy won the final battle against Noldor!
- AquaAzzurri - Lithuanian team played first two seasons of SPCL, they finished 4th in the premiere season and also qualifed to QF in season 2
- Sinite - team from Bulgaria played last season and haven't qualified to play-offs (3rd in group C)
- FC Rovinka - my team played the first season of SPCL and similarly as Sinite, finished 3rd in the group.

All other teams will play for the first time - very interesting list including also some big names - Totemo Baka (CZE) & Last Mohycan (SVK)!

This time we will not have the limit per country and that means that we will have quite a lot of teams from Czech republic (5) and Slovakia (4) - but we still have 9 countries represented in total.

Full list of participants sorted to 4 pots for the group stage draw will be published as soon as possible (hopefully tomorrow evening). You can find further info in new topic I just created (for all SPCL seasons going forward): http://forum.soccerproject.com/viewtopi ... 5&t=156300

Thanks to all managers for their quick responses and looking forward to the tournament!
