Re: SP Champions league - all seasons

Here is the Quarterfinal draw.

QF1: AquaAzzurri - U.C. SAMPDORIA
In their 5th season, this is a third Quarterfinal appearance for AquaAzzurri. And they have been waiting for this since the second season. Still, their biggest success is 4th place from the very first season of SPCL, but this time they will probably not reach the next round. Their season's max is only 139 (average 133,60) - these are the lowest numbers from all Quarterfinalists. So the favorite here is quite clear - U.C. SAMPDORIA won group C with 14 points, average performance 143,33 (max 146). In their previous SPCL appearances, they first finished 4th (season 3), while in last season Bulgarian team ended up in Quarterfinal round. This time they have a solid chance to improve their historical max.

QF2: rogiboys - Chelsea champion
Finalists of last season are clashing already in Quarterfinal round. The situation is similar than in last season - Chelsea is the favorite, but rogiboys have a real chance to surprise again. In current season of A division, they both are currently in the bottom half of the table - the difference there is not very big, in the first game rogiboys lost 0:1 at home. The performance statistics are very similar - rogiboy's max is 144, average 140,83, while Chelsea's max is 146 and average 140,50. We can expect dramatic and close games here. After Group stage, robioys moved up to the 3rd position in the historical ranking, Chelsea is currently holding 7th position - but they can still go higher in case they will succeed in this round.

QF3: lesbuffalos - Sparta Palmeiras
Sparta is a big favorite of the Belgian derby. Currently the top performing team (max 148, avg 145,50) won the most difficult group D with 13 points. In their first appearance last season they finished on a 3rd place, this time they have a very good chance to go higher. Their opposite was fighting for the play-offs till the very last game - there they also shown a higher potential by playing 144. However, the max result of lesbuffalos is still lower than Sparta's average, so they will need some luck if they want to bring some surprise.

QF4: S.S. Wallachs - FC Remedy
Romanian team finished second in the very dramatic final round of the most difficult group D - and like last season, they're again in the QF round. On the other hand FC Remedy won group A without losing single point, so the team is now in a good mood for the play-offs. Dutch team played all previous SPCL seasons and thanks to this, they're also leading the historical rank. However, in last 4 seasons they always ended in Quarterfinal. FC Remedy plays very consistently this season - their max is 145, average 143. Both numbers are lower than their opponent - Wallach's max is 148, average 144,67. Both teams are playing in A division and they're currently very close there - S.S. Wallachs is one place and one point ahead of FC Remedy. In division games, S.S. Wallachs won 1:0 away after 1:1 draw at their home stadium. So, based on the statistics, S.S. Wallachs looks to be a favorite of this game, but this seems to be the most open game of this round.

A lucky 2-2 home game with LR 142-146 with me forgetting to set up my individual orders.
Not too bad in any case, i know I had a very difficult draw.
Maybe lady luck can help me in the return tonight :)

Here same result 2-2 in my home-game (with a lower rating for me). So Chelsea Champion had a good chance to go further.
But, there is another game at 22 o'clock and at that moment a good surprise for me is possible.

And again 2-2 but now with equal ratings. Chelsea Champion a direct red card, i have a red card after a yellow, but i have 2 'broken' players.
Congrats Chelsea Champion...

QF RESULTS

QF1: AquaAzzurri - U.C. SAMPDORIA 5:8 (3:5, 2:3)
As expected, U.C. SAMPDORIA confirmed their role of favorite - already in the first game Bulgarians won 5:3 away. It seems Lithuanian team gave up the battle before the start - they played very low in both games (128, 129). U.C. SAMPDORIA is now the only unbeaten team this season.

QF2: rogiboys - Chelsea champion 5:4 (2:2, 2:2, sum of line ratings: 288 - 291)
Last season's winner finished their journey in QF - but it was the fight until the very end. Both games ended with 2:2 draw, but Chelsea played +3 in the first game, which made them go through to the Semifinals.

QF3: lesbufalos - Sparta Palmeiras 5:4 (2:2, 3:2)
Biggest surprise here. The best performing team of the Group stage failed already in QF. In the first leg, lesbuffalos was able to defend a draw 2:2 despite the fact they played 4 points lower than Sparta. In the second leg, Sparta played too aggressively which resulted in their lowest performance this season (136) - and a loss 2:3 at their home stadium. The sum of lineratings from both games is still one point higher for Sparta, but lesbuffalos still scored one goal more than their opponent.

QF4: S.S. Wallachs - FC Remedy 5:3 (3:2, 2:1)
FC Remedy won all 6 group stage games, but they were unlucky with the draw - S.S. Wallachs was the second best performing team of all Group stage teams. Romanian team played continued with their high performance also in Quarterfinals - they played 145 and 146. For Dutch team this is the 5th season in the row without qualifying to Top 4.

SEMIFINALS REVIEW

SF1: S.S. Wallachs - U.C. SAMPDORIA
Very interesting battle without a clear favorite. U.C. SAMPDORIA is the only unbeaten team of this season, they're sitting in the top section of A division (3. - 4. place). On the other hand, S. S. Wallachs are in the middle of A division - in the division games, both team won their home games 2:1. Very difficult to say what team has bigger chances - I really see this a 50/50 battle.

SF2: lesbuffalos - Chelsea champion
Favorite of this SF is quite clear - Chelsea champion is one of the top favorites of the full season and it's also one of the top performing teams. They played the best performance of QF round (148 away). Belgian team already surprised by beating Sparta Palmeiras - so they will try to surprise again. Chelsea finished second in last SPCL season and now they have a very good chance to get to the Final again. I personally expect this to happen, but it will not be an easy game.

3-2 win after a 146-146 game. My GK stopped a penalty so i'm overjoyed with this win.
Next game I will need some luck to defend this win, but maybe I can get a draw which would get me in the semi's.
Shame that he isnt through in the cup, that wouldve improved my chances. Now it will be very very hard.

Hm, very good - so your chances are still alive :)

The other Semifinal battle was completed yesterday - I expected a very open game without any favorite. And the teams confirmed this totally. Both games ended with a 1:1 draw, so it's again the sum of lineratings that decides on the winner. U.C. SAMPDORIA played 144 and 145, while S.S. Wallachs played 143 and 145 - so thanks to 1 point difference, Bulgarian team goes to the final. In both games, S.S. Wallachs took the lead, but at the end they were not able to hold it till the end. In the second leg, they were very close, but SAMPDORIA's right-wing Nzekou scored an equalizer in 91. min.
Bulgarian team still stays unbeaten team - and now they're waiting for their opponent. The last SF game is scheduled for tomorrow 10am - we can still see a Bulgarian derby in the final!

Shame.
I had a tough task ahead of me, but I couldnt take it home.
3-2 (146-146) at home and 1-0 away (149-145) kicks me out of the tournament :(

So, Chelsea shown the best performance of this season - so it was a well deserved victory. But it was still dramatic and you tried really hard to get another surprise :) The SPCL season is still not over for you - we still have 3rd place game in the schedule ;)

For the first time in the SPCL history, the title will go to Bulgaria - so it's 7th country with the title. And it's just a second time in the SPCL history where we see Final round between two teams representing the same country - the only country derby we had in season 8 where AC Draha Prague won the first title for Czech republic.
For Chelsea champion, this is already their 3th Final appearance, but they're still waiting for the gold medal. Their opponent - U.C. SAMPDORIA - plays Final for the first time, their historical maximum is 4th place back from season 3.
In the historical ranking, Chelsea moved up to the 3rd position, U.C. SAMPDORIA is now 11th - if they win they will move up to 8th position. In current A division, U.C. SAMPDORIA finished better (3. vs 8.) - and they also won both games against Chelsea (2:1 away, 4:3 home). These two teams also met in the 9th round of SP Cup last Saturday - and as well this one went better for SAMPDORIA. They won 1:0 (152 - 150) and they're still fighting for the Cup victory. This all makes U.C. SAMPDORIA a favorite of this round, but it's another very open game. Btw - U.C. SAMPDORIA is still unbeaten in this SPCL season.

The 3rd place game looks more clear, but it's still a tricky one. S.S. Wallachs is the favorite, the team has been showing very constant performances, but lesbuffalos's performance is on a rising curve - they surprised Sparta Palmeiras in the QF round, they were very close to another surprise in SF round, so they will fight hard again.

Chelsea champion gets the title!

After two unsuccessful final appearances, Chelsea managed to win the 10th edition of SPCL! It was a very open game and one important detail that impacted the overall result is the fact that U.C. SAMPDORIA played the SP Cup final earlier on Friday.
Chelsea managed to win both games - the first important step was the 3:2 victory away in the first leg - which made the situation for SAMPDORIA very complicated.

I'll update the full statistics after the 3rd place game is finalized.

U.C. SAMPDORIA - Chelsea champion 2:3 (1:3) G: 12' Parada Barrera, 67' Nzekou - 4', 30' and 43' the Carpenter / P: 145 - 147 / A: 10393
Chelsea champion - U.C. SAMPDORIA 2:1 (1:1) G: 23' the Carpenter, 87' Naskali (P) - 8' Parada Barrera / P: 145 - 142 / A: 8974
