QUALIFICATION: BALKI - fc bierbuik 3:1 (1:0, 2:1)
Season 11 started with the qualification battle between BALKI and fc bierbuik. Slovak team won both games - on Saturday they won 1:0 at home and this morning they managed to win 2:1 in Belgium. It's a well deserved victory - BALKI played +9 and +7. They'll probably need to improve a bit in case they want to fight for some points in the group stage.

So, the list of 16 teams is now final - and therefore I proceeded with the Group stage draw. We'll see quite an interesting mix of teams here.

GROUP A:
Two teams will be fighting for the first place - and the favorite is not very clear. FC Remedy was seeded from the POT1, but smoking athlete will be a very difficult opponent. The other two teams will most likely fight only for the 3rd position in the group and it can also be an equal fight - between Fc A.S.U and BALKI. Slovak team seems to be in a good mood, they won the qualification and they're also started well the SP season in C.2.

GROUP B:
One of the biggest favorite of this season - S.S. Wallachs is in a good position to win Group B. Their biggest opponent will be probably SAMPDORIA, but FK Kosice can surprise and fight for the Quarterfinal. I would say that this can be quite an equal group, we shouldn't forget Middlesbrough - Lithuanian team can make this group more dramatic.

GROUP C:
Last season's finalist U.C.SAMPDORIA is a big favorite of this group - they shouldn't have big problems in this group. FC Jazero has also a good chance to get into the Quarterfinals. The other two teams - FC Otelul II Galati and Valencia C.F. will probably fight "just" for the third place - and there's no clear favorite.

GROUP D:
The last group will probably not bring big surprises neither - rogiboys and Viastore will fight for the victory, 1.FC Brodsko can surprise and fight for Quarterfinals, but most likely they'll finish 3rd. The last position seems to be clear here - but we already saw many surprises in last season, so let's see what we'll get from Xct team this season.

The full schedule is published in the main post - please go ahead and setup your home games asap.

First two rounds of Group stage are completed - you can find all statistics available on first page of this topic. Please remember - there are 2 rounds scheduled for upcoming weekend - so make sure you setup your home games for 3rd and 4th round as soon as possible.

How I see the situation:

Group A:
FC Remedy started the season with an important victory against smoking athlete, but last weekend they lost the game at BALKI. Slovak team started this season earlier by playing the qualification round, but right now they are leading the table! They played 144 in both games - which is very good for the lowest seeded team in the tournament.
The group will be more dramatic as I expected, BALKI will play two games against smoking athlete - these will show how realistic are the chances for BALKI.

Group B:
No surprises here so far - S.S. Wallachs won both games and they're leading the group with 6 points and 5:0 score. SAMPDORIA is currently holding second position - Bulgarian team has also 6 points in the pocket, although they had an easy win in the first round, as FK Kosice didn't attend the game. Overall performances in this group are low, although Wallachs are currently holding the top home performance of the season (146).

Group C:
As expected, U.C. SAMPDORIA won both games and they're leading this group. Bulgarian team played the highest away performance this season so far (146), none of the rest teams reached 140. The fight for second place might be very dramatic - all teams have a real chance to look into the QF.

Group D:
In first two rounds, this group brought the lowest performances (average 118,75) - but that's influenced by the fact that Xct Team started a team reconstruction. In first round they lost "only" 2:4 against rogiboys, but in the second game they lost 1:11 at their home stadium. Here it seems that rogiboys will not have big problems to get the first place, while Viastore will fight for the second place with 1.FC Brodsko. Czech team lost the first game against their opponent 1:2 home, so they will need to fight very hard.

Round 3 & 4 completed - you can find all results & statistics on the first page (as usual). Here are some highlights of last weekend.

The biggest surprise in this season so far we have in group A - BALKI continues their amazing journey and they won their 6th game this season (incl. Qualification round). Last weekend they surprisingly won both games against smoking athlete - in both cases BALKI shown very good performance (143 home, 142 away) - with 12 points after 4 rounds, they're one of 2 teams already qualified to Quarterfinals!
FC Remedy took easy wins in the game against Fc A.S.U (5:1, 9:2). Romanian team goes through the reconstruction and therefore has no real chance to get any points in the group. So, Dutch team is on a good way to get another Quarterfinal appearance, but they still have two difficult games to go - next weekend they will play away at the stadium of smoking athlete. Czech team still has theoretical chance to get 2nd place, but they need to win both games and also wait for help of BALKI against FC Remedy.

Group B continues as expected - S.S. Wallachs took 4 points in the games against their biggest rival (SAMPDORIA). In the home game, S.S. Wallachs won 1:0 and get this season's performance record - 150. They're leading group B with 10 points, 3 points ahead of SAMPDORIA and 6 points ahead of Middlesbrough. Lithuanian team still has a chance to get into the QF round, but they would need to improve their performance quite significantly (their current max is 131).
Similarly to that, group C also continues without big surprises - U.C.SAMPDORIA is the second confirmed Quarterfinalist. Bulgarian team won all 4 games and they're 5 points ahead of FC Jazero. Slovak team moved up to second position after they won both games against Valencia C.F. They still need to stay focused, becuase remaining two teams have still a chance for second place - looking at the performances, Otelul II Galati has a solid chance. They only got 1 point so far, but in case of a victory in next game at Valencia C.F., Romanian team will host FC Jazero and 3 points from last game could get them into a QF round.

In Group D we have another Romanian team under reconstruction. Therefore some results in this group reminds more hockey than football. 1.FC Brodsko took two high wins over the weekend and they're staying just one point behind rogiboys. Belgian team is leading the table with 10 points and in next round they'll become another Quarterfinalist. Next weekend we'll see a very important game between 1.FC Brodsko and Viastore. Czech team is 5 points behind their opponent, but if they win, the chances for Quarterfinal will become real again.

Last weekend brought a lot of clarity in all groups - before the last round of group stage we already know 7 quarterfinalists.

All positions in group A are now clear. BALKI is already confirmed winner of this group. FC Remedy takes the second place after they took a very important point at the stadium of smoking athlete. Czech team needed a win, but they only managed to get a 1:1 draw - 4 points in 5 games is a bit dissapointing result for a team from A division.
Group B standings are also completed - and 6th round will not change anything here. S.S. Wallachs are leading the table 3 points ahead of SAMPDORIA, but the games between these two teams finished better for Romanian team (1:0, 1:1). It's a well deserved first place in the group - Wallachs are the top performing team of this season - and as well they're now the biggest favorite of this season.
We saw one small surprise in Group C - FC Jazero won against U.C.SAMPDORIA 2:1 and qualified to the play-offs. Slovak team is now just two points behind their opponent so they still have a chance to win the group, but it's not very realistic scenario. FC Jazero would need to win their last game at FC Otelul II Galati and U.C.SAMPDORIA would need to lose home against Valencia C.F.
As I wrote last time, rogiboys confirmed their position last weekend - thanks to the highest victory this season (13:1) at the stadium of Xct Team. Thanks to the result of the other game in group D, Belgian team became a winner of the group - before last game they are 4 point ahead of the second team. The second place in this group is the only open position for Quarterfinal - and that's becuase 1.FC Brodsko lost their home game against Viastore 3:4. Now last round will bring a decision who's going through. Although 1.FC Brodsko is still holding second position, they are in very difficult situation right now - with only 2 points advantage they are playing last game away at the stadium of rogiboys, while Viastore plays against XcT Team, so we can say they will get 3 points for sure. So, 1.FC Brodsko needs a victory in last game - in case of draw both teams will end up with 10 points and in this situation Viastore would go through to QF (the games ended 1:2, 4:3 - so Viastore scored more away goals).

Group stage has been completed. Compared to previous seasons, the overall average perfomance was lower, but that was also influenced by the fact that two teams were reconstructing their teams - both from Romania and both finished with 0 points. And as well, their score was very bad - Fc A.S.U finished with 5:28 and Xct Team with a historical negative record - 7:57 (-50)! In all groups we could see many goals scored - from 30 (B) to 88 (D).

The last two open questions were answered over the weekend:
- as expected, U.C.SAMPDORIA won their last game against Valencia C.F. (4:0) and defended the leading position in group C. FC Jazero had a good finish of the group stage, but they ended 2 points behind.
- Viastore took the last place for QF draw. In the last round, they won 10:0 against Xct team as expected. 1.FC Brodsko needed a win away at rogiboys and they only got a 2:2 draw (143 - 143). Although 1.FC Brodsko shown better performances, in the final standings they only took 3th place. This is thanks to the games between 1.FC and Viastore. Both teams won their away games with 1 goal difference, but Viastore scored more goals away (they won 4:3, while at home they lost 1:2).

The top performing teams are (without any surprise) S.S. Wallachs (winner of B with 14 points) and U.C.SAMPDORIA (winner of C with 15 points). We have three teams without a defeat so far - S.S. Wallachs, rogiboys and - BALKI :)
Slovak team is the biggest surprise in this season - and it's the first team in the history of tournament, who qualified to TOP8 from lowest seeded group (pot 4). As I wrote earlier, BALKI started the season with Qualification round (2 victories) and in Group A, they won all 6 games - so they're the only team without losing any point in this season.
They also have a good chance to get into the Semifinal, because as a group winner, they will not play against the strongest teams in the tournament. Out of 3 possible teams, only SAMPDORIA was showing comparably high performance. FC Jazero and Viastore played lower than BALKI.

I'll publish the QF draw here tomorrow - so stay tuned :)

POT 1: BALKI (SVK), S.S. Wallachs (ROM), U.C.SAMPDORIA (BUL), rogiboys (BEL)
POT 2: FC Remedy (NED), SAMPDORIA (BUL), FC Jazero (SVK), Viastore (CZE)
Team: FC Rovinka

History:
First season: 51 - 1. in H.890; Winner of G (53), F (54), E (57, 63 & 78), D (64, 70 & 79), C (65) and B (81). Played 2 seasons in A division (73 & 82).
