QF summary - not completed

Three QF battles have been completed over the weekend - and in all cases group winners succeed. As expected, FC Meangreen won the Dutch derby against SC Rotterdam, first 2:1 home and even more easily away - 3:1. With the total score 5:1, this was the clearest QF so far.
FC Weed also confirmed the expectations, they won both games against marcelinho - first 4:3 away, and later they confirmed this with a 1:0 victory at home.
QF4 was the most dramatic, both games between FC Rovinka and berusky ended with a draw, but thanks to the away goal rule, berusky is the happier team of this battle, as they scored 2 away goals, while at home they defended o 0:0 draw. Both games brought very good performances on both sides, I wanted to win this, but it was a deserved win for Czech team, so congratz :)

The QF2 between Noldor and Primisimo FC is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday, so guys, please try to pre-align some potential SF games with FC Meangreen in advance, so we don't delay this too much.

QF3: Primisimo FC - Noldor 1:3 on aggregate
Both today's games between Primisimo FC and Noldor finished as expected, a very fresh champion of SP A division won both games and qualified to Semifinal again. They'll now play against FC Meangreen.

Noldor - FC Meangreen 3:2 (148-147)

After some stupid mistakes I somehow managed my team to the closest victory in the 1st semifinal. Anyway, result still gives great possibility to my opponend. We will see in the evening :-)

SEMIFINAL RESULTS

SF1: Noldor - FC Meangreen 6:4 (3:2, 3:2)
Although Noldor won both games, this was a very dramatic battle. Noldor started with a home win 3:2 (148 - 147), which is very tricky - because it keeps the chances very open. FC Meangreen needed a win 1:0, 2:1 or with higher goal difference - in the second game Dutch team also played slightly better than Noldor (147 - 146), but Noldor was the lucky one in this game.

SF2: FC Weed - berusky 5:3 (2:1, 3:2)
The same goal difference than in SF1, but big difference in performances. FC Weed was clearly better in both games, playing +11 and +12. In their premiere, Romanian team will fight for gold.

Three out of 4 Semifinalists are playing their first SPCL season, so they really brought a very good quality here. Two of them will get a medal for sure. Still, the favorite for gold is Noldor - in their 7th season, they will get their 7th medal. The most successful team of SPCL holds currently 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, now they'll get either gold or silver.

The fight for 3rd place is also an interesting one. FC Meangreen and berusky are returning back to A division, in last season they both played in B.3. Dutch team won the league and the games between these two, Meangreen was doing slightly better (1:0, 3:3). berusky played lower than expected in Semifinal round, but if they play their best, they can go for bronze.

SEASON 14 COMPLETED

First weekend of new year brought final games of 14th SPCL. Here are the results:

3RD PLACE GAME: FC Meangreen - berusky 6:3
Well deserved win for Dutch team. In their premiere season, they got medal. In both games FC Meangreen played better, but I have to say they were also a bit lucky in the first one - where berusky missed a penalty at the beginning of first half, and therefore lost with two goals difference, which normally means game over in this stage. And I think this also influenced the motivation of Czech team for the second game. Anyway, it was a very good season for berusky, they had to play Qualification round against Dourbes. On the other hand, thanks to those two games before Group stage, berusky's striker Geiser won the trophy for the Top scorer - he scored 10 goals in total (including 2 goals in qualification round). Meangreen's Zečević scored hattrick in the first 3rd place game against berusky, but it wasn't enough - as he got "only" 9 goals in total.

FINAL:Noldor - FC Weed 2:1
Noldor did it again - out of 7 seasons, they got their 4th victory (and as I wrote previously, they have 7 medals / 7 seasons). Final games were very dramatic with very small differences in the performances. A bit paradox - Noldor got the key advantage in the first leg that was played last Friday at the stadium of FC Weed. It was a day of SP Cup final (Noldor played that game), so Romanian team has a small advantage in their home game. Despite that, in a very dramatic game, they lost 1:2 (148 - 148). The second game was played yesterday and it ended up with a 0:0 draw, but with a slightly better performance of home side (149 - 147) - so it was a tight game, but (another) deserved win for Noldor.

The fact that we had some very good new teams in the competition and they went very high (3 Semifinalists played their first season), there were no big changes in historical rankings.
In the club rank, the only change in top 10 is on 10th position - my team FC Rovinka reached Quarterfinals this season and thanks to that, we moved up from 13rd to 10th position, replacing Romanian team me_dinamo (winner of 7th season).
In the countries rank, the only change in top 5 is on 5th position - thanks to Noldor's win, Sweden replaced Netherlands (57 vs 55.75 points). In Top 5, Sweden is the only country that was represented only by 1 team - Noldor - and only in 7 out of 14 seasons!

If I look at all 14 seasons, here are some key highlights:
- 112 teams playing under 36 flags joined the tournament
- FC Remedy played the most seasons - 11. Dutch team is also second in the historical rank with 2 medals (1 gold, 1 silver). rogiboys (BEL) played 9 seasons, Noldor (SWE), Primisimo FC (CZE) and FC Rovinka (SVK) played 7 seasons
- the most "efficient" team is The Last Mohycan (SVK) - their average points per season is 8.50 (4 seasons played, 2 gold and 2 silver medals). Noldor's average is 8.14 (7 seasons, 4 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze).
- the very first game of SPCL was played on Friday 16th May 2014 at 22:00 - Fresh (NED) won 5:2 against FC Hostage (SVK). This was back during 58th SP season.

So, SPCL is now running over 4.5 years - and with a bit mixed feelings, I have to stop it here. It was a good fun for me and I hope it was also a good fun for all of you, thanks for a great participation in the tournament, which was really build up from scratch and it took some time to get to the final look that was followed in last 10-11 seasons. If there's anyone who would like to take this competition over, I'll be happy to provide all files and help to keep it live.
Good luck guys!

Oh no! This is a disaster! I think nobody can organize it like you did. Always perfect, with entertaining comments...
I was just moving up again, planned to become champion in C this season, so I had a chance to re-enter the SPCL...

I will really miss the institute SPCL was/is. I hope someone will take over the organisation, but I slightly hope you will reconsider your discision...
For now many thanks for the last 4,5 years. It was always fun to read all the details!
