SoccerProject European League (SPEL)

Post by Sjarel » Thu Dec 27, 2012 5:04 pm

SoccerProject European League (SPEL) is a new project - an international competition which is supposed to attract new managers at SoccerProject (SP) and bring a new piece of passion for those mangers who might be loosing their interest in SP due to the lack of any change in this online-game for last few years and try to encourage them to keep on playing our favourite football manager by giving them a chance to meet and fight the best teams in Europe (but also for the years-passionate players, indeed).

The organizers of SPEL believe to bring back to life the tradition of previously very popular international competitions SPEL and SP UEFA, in which only the best teams (mostly) from the European countries took part. Sadly, the organizers were not able to start a new season of these competitions again, which led to its end.

Czech and Slovak communities maintain the tradition of their national competitions which have two purposes: to compare the strength of their teams within a nation (country) and to make the common insignificant friendly matches become competitive, thus widening SP by one (or more) competitions and many more interesting matches. The advantage of competing in national competitions is that managers can easily communicate and chat about their upcoming matches, share their emotions of the match results and thanks to the distance even go out and hang out in real life, making new friends this way.

Therefore, five of us (managers from Czech and Slovak republic) decided to co-work and create this new project (following the tradition of SECL and SP UEFA). Each one of us has a wealth of experience in organizing national competitions or other very popular competitions in our Czech & Slovak community. We can provide professional and friendly attitude concurrently for all the participants.

SPEL starts at the beginning of the upcoming season. This season will be considered as the zero season, so it might not be perfect yet; we will work on the details during the season, try to fix things up as soon as possible. Some changes may be first introduced in the officially first season. Of course, we are waiting for your suggestions and comments on how to improve SPEL and to help us identify and resolve any problem.

Last but not least, we would like to thank all managers who decided to join this project and wish them best luck in this competition.

Therefore the Czechoslovak community decided to revive these competitions. Currently already underway SPEL (SoccerProject Europa League), which is for teams playing Divisions A - D. This competition will be held every even season SP (odd season - national qualifications). Another competition within the SoccerProject will be SPEC (SoccerProject European Cup). This competition is open to teams playing Divisions E - H. This competition will be held every odd season SP (even season - national qualifications).

Of course, we are waiting for your suggestions and comments to improve the SPEC and help us find and resolve any problem.

Last but not least, we would like to thank all the managers who decided to join this project and we wish them the best of luck in this competition.

Teams seedings berofe the draw procedure

Image

The pots were made according to the ranking of teams based on their:
1. league division
2. manager ranking

Therefore, best four teams (which were also granted byes to the group stage) in ranking were placed into Pot number 1, the other four were placed into Pot number 2 and so on, ending with Pot number 5.

Group stage draw result

Image

The draw procedure divided all teams that advanced to group stage into 4 groups of five teams.
Each group contains 1 team from each of the pots. Teams from the same country could not have been drawn into the same group, except for Belgian and Slovakian teams (both have more than 4 competing teams in this stage of SPEC), two of which could have been drawn into one group.

Match fixtures follow...

NO match invitation needs to be sent with penalty shootout, since drawing a match is permissible in this stage of SPEC (in matches with shootout only draw result will be considered).
First round matches are supposed to be played today and during the weekend, but because of my delay also Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday matches will be accepted this time.

I am really sorry that it took me so long to post this. I will do my best to be more punctual next time.

An amazing new form of international competition that attracts new managers at SoccerProject (SP) as well as new piece of passion for the game.
