Withdrawing highest offer for transfers

Post by Paul_G »

Why can't I withdraw my offer for a player if it is the highest one? Could someone tell me the reasoning behind that?

The other owner had the opportunity to accept it and opted not to, so he's not getting hoodwinked if I pull my offer back.

Right now, there is no incentive at all for an owner to accept a transfer offer before the time limit expires, which results in last minute sniping of players and bidding wars which are unrealistic. If that offer might not stay on the table, it gives the guy selling the player something to think about.

Because you want that player so you put that offer in.

It stops managers having bids that they are happy with and then dropped.

If the manager is happy with it he would accept right away, I agree its unfair that we cant withdraw a bid.

That's precisely why I would want to be able to withdraw an offer. Right now, if the manager is happy with a bid there is still no reason for them to accept it, because they'll get that money at the end of the week anyway and they might receive a better offer in the meantime.

It does nothing but tie up the bidding players money and encourages the more cheesy owners to bid 1 euro higher, or sneak in a bid at the end.
