I agree that a world cup would be very....very....very nice...
As said before, managers from each country should vote (in a wise way) to elect the national manager (who would be manager of his team and country at the same time). The problem of the amount of games could be solved with an enlargement of the season duration. I say we could play 2 ou 3 league games a week instead of 4. Also the players fitness recovery should be a little bit different...they should recover a bit every simulation and not only at 4 am.
I don't know if I agree that teams should get a compensation for having their players in the national team because that will make big teams bigger and small teams smaller...In case of not "loaning" players for the national team these managers should see their players moral decrease significantly (as said before).

I think that's all for now...

cheers!

Or what we could also do is ask the top 10 managers of each country to become the coach of the national team... and then the nr one gets first choise and if he rejects nr 2 can get the job... and so on... and ofcourse the countries with no managers don't get a team...;)

and about the players I think the managers of the clubs should be able to reject an offer only for friendly matches, and get a fine (so they don't always reject it... ) but for official matches they can't reject at all..;)

so:

Rule 1 : best managers are manager of country, and they get the choise to accept the jop or niet...

Rule 2: Clubmanagers can keep there players when they are picked for international friendlies, but have to pay a fine...

Rule 3: Club managers cant keep the players for official mathces...;)

P.S Maybe we can have a World Cup every season, and then the qualifiers are during the season... cause theres always a week between the previous and the next season...;)

I had been thinking of this topic for pretty long ever since I played this game. Indeed this is a good idea. I played another soccer manager game previously, and it does have a good system of managing international cups.
After reading the threads, I think to clarify certain things goes..

1. Managers of national teams, say for example England, the manager would definately have to be of English nationality himself. So I do not understand how one user raised the question of how any managers can try to be national teams managers like Singapore or Madagascar without themselves being from those countries in the 1st place.

2. Players would of course be selected from the existing list of players available to all those clubs in SP. They can be selected from the national team managers, and of course they can only be selected based on their nationality they represent. You can't select a Belgium player to play for Mexico can you ? Obviously not.

3. Regarding the loan of players, or however you guys understand it. When selected to be national players of a country, it is not necessary that the chosen player then do not play for his club anymore. He still do as he still belongs to that club. Just that maybe priority be given to national games. I hope there may be a system which comes that does not conflict with normal league games. That international games comes after league game or only during friendly cup or friendly matches games, so they won't be affected playing for their club leagues. And part of their salary can be subsidised and paid for by their national teams. And national players of course will have to be skilled in their positions, and probably national players will have the advantage of gaining more experience per game than normal division leagues.

4. Managers of national teams can be voted by a system. And it is not necessary to only have 1 manager manage the national team. We can do it in pairs. Like 2 managers managing the national team, one being the assistant.

5. Regarding countries with small population in SP. It is not necessary to involve them yet. We can get them in later in the game when they have a large enough player database. But in my opinion as long as there are at least 36 players of a nationality in the game I think that country already qualifies to be involve.

I cannot think of further aspects now. If there is any drop me a mail in game or here and I'll reply soonest possible. Thank you for your time.

i have an idea,
for the club which its player play for the country, they should get some incentives, let say some amount of money probably around 10K-100K depend on the importance of the player (I think the national manager can decide the incentive amount)

so this way.. the club can make a choice whether to keep the player fitness or to get some money.. so there's a positive thing in both way.. rather than give fine to club who reject the player to join the national club which all option doesn't have positive thing at all (except of course the player will get experience rating)

just an idea though.. any comment please ? :)

If you dont want your players to play then fine dont but there value will increase (people like to have int on there team). They gain expereince and it brings pride. The votes are not that random, people will look for best candidate maybe it would work if leagues seperated but there not so end of.

maybe so, but it was mentioned above that this topic has been around for 5 months, and that no action has been taken, no visible action. It would seem that a more direct approach would be appropriate.
