Yeah Camel, your arguments against this idea don't make any sense
How about this: some people can email at their work, but can not access the internet because the IT-people don't want people to browse instead of work  . For those people this would be great too....

sljivovica has a good point plus at least then you would know that you need to login to sp.

plus it wouldn't over stress the servers

instead of seeing the negatives why you add to the idea?

Well ok, i can agree to this:
Whenever you got a message on SP, you get a mail with youve got new messages
just one
to tell you need to log in

it WOULD stress the servers if they have to send it to 8000ppl

Isn't it enough that some people would welcome the idea even if you do not? ;)

Thinking on the stress issue, given it would be a SPFA feature I'm sure the cost is more than covered by the subscription (and the fact that many of the SPFA members won't even use it). Though if you look at it on the basis of extra SPFA subscriptions gained with the addition of the feature it may not work out so great, depends on your perspective but I'm sure complex economics dosen't come into feature decisions. ;)

Basically extending the match reports, add extra options. A form where you could tick some boxes and recieve not just match reports but selected emails etc. (If really worried about stress send all new messages in a single email after a simulation perhaps).

Sounds like a reasonably simple addition with no negatives though, admittedly, only lmarginal positives for some.

Now that is a good argument
I wouldn't want to have a message for every SP-mesage I get.

But it's easy to solve, like Akrzein said. Get all this info into 1 mail instead of 4. You can even give the managers the option to get a mail after every simulation, or only once a day, after the 04:00 simulation.

Sjarel already gave all managers the option to receive a mail per day, so it's probably not too much stress...

There we go, so what's the use in continuing to argue?

Haha
The fact that lots of managers won't need it doesn't mean it is a bad idea.

exactly! at least someone is listening!

just because you won't use it doesn't mean that nobody will!

as said earlier some people can't sit and play the game all day and a quick email to update them on the days events would help. :P

Because some will use it? And it seems a relatively simple addition. Like I said when you've no negatives and some (though minor) positives where is the problem?

yeah just run a mail script once a day to send it all. it's just a slight addition to what you receive every game anyway.

... unless it's relatively simple to add, which I imagine it would be. ;) (Or taking the train of thought into a more general sense if the benefit was major for the fraction, though that isn't the case this time it would defeat the point as a sweeping general statement)

Hard to find an argument against something if it has no negatives, those being server stress and implementation time which would both appear to be neglible and outweighed by those (however few) who would welcome the addition.
