Betting house

Post by bregovicion82 »

Hello fotball managers,

What about a betting house on soccerproject money?... I know that most of the games are quite predictible but we can bet on the exact score which is harder to guess... or on something else...

It will add more fun for the game...

THINK THIS IS A GREAT IDEA TO GENERATE CASH.

WOULD HAVE TO BE PROPERLY MONITERED AND ONLY BET ON LEAGUE GAMES.
(FRIENDLIES WOULD BE FAR TOO COMPLICATED)

i think this would increase the incentives for cheating and make it even harder for the sheriffs to handle the phenomenon.
then, it is a football management game. if you put betting as an option, it may end up for a part of the managers as a betting game and they would lose most of the capital not for players, but for nothing.
also, i don't believe it is good to promote betting.

maybe not beting games becouse will generate cheating but i think before each season 2-3 days (before the next game of the season will be played)every team in soccer project will bet who will win league A, B1, B2.

Betting before the season on cup and division winners (and runner-ups) is a good idea. It's very hard to cheat with.

Ok, my idea was for fun, not for making more money... (we could only bet on very small amounts) but I understand that there are a lot young players who don't want to "learn" betting...
OK, I reject my idea...

I for one really like this idea. I think betting should only be offered on A Division games, and then the prospects for cheating would be eliminated. This way, more interest would be generated in the A Division, which is a great motivation to reach it.

As for this adding more money into the game – it doesn’t have to. A system based on a zero-sum game can be used, when all price-money is simply shifted from one manager to another.

As for the moral issue, I don’t see what’s wrong with this. Betting is a part of life, this is not real money you’re betting on, and there will be a cap on the size of bet you can place.

The real question here is development. It sounds to me like a complicated one to programme, especially if you want everything automated and the odds to adapt to the level of bets so that it remains a zero-sum game. Maybe Sjarel would like to comment? Or maybe this can be outsourced?
