At the moment I think the transfer market is over biased on age - young players will go for tens of millions where as a player in his mid-twenties (when he's at his prime) will go for half of that amount.

Either increasing the age - or even better having a hidden skill on what age a player will start to slow and even retire.

I agree with the suggestion if the threshold of decay for each player is random and hidden.

The average stay should remain as it is, though, or it will contribute even more to the inflation.

no it won't.there will be more good players to choose from, on the transfer list,so the prices should drop

These two suggestions are very different, and I don't think they should be mentioned under the same topic as I suspect most people here liked the first part of the suggestion more than the second part - it makes their players more valuable.

Making the age of decline unpredictable is an idea I've basically supported in the past, although it will make huge changes to the game, from players' prices to the ability to plan. Planning indeed is what currently makes the difference between a good manager and an average manager. That's why I'm less enthusiastic now - I think the main effect it will have is that more will be down to luck and less down to planning or good management.

To sum up: the first part of the suggestion in my mind is simply asking for the game to be easier and for the manager to work less hard on substituting aging players; the second part of the suggestion is to do with adding to the luck factor, thus reducing from the importance of good management and planning.

More players means a larger induction of capital and more external income into the game. More players mean more games, which means more revenue from tickets etc.

The average price for some players may fall (or more likely: the increase in price may slow down), but I bet it'll never offset the extra income those players generate. Simply because avg(Lifeincome of all players)>>avg(price of all players).

Evrything you say here is wrong.the only thing that brings external capital are money won from winning leagues and received when a new team begins.how could more players mean more games?there will be more players on the transfer list.teams still have a maximum of 35 so...?

No it's right.

But as usual you discard everything that surpases first impression.

Think!

:P

Players can also suffer a career-ending injury in their early 20's. Nobody seems to suggest that though...
