Fitness and age

Post by spacedancer »

At the end of this season : this remark :

According to the league calendar, one day on SoccerProject equals one week in real time, more or less, right ???

So how come that a 33 year old goalie isn't able to play one game " a week " and loses moral whilst not playing friendlies....

It doesn't seem right to me : talking real time : a 33 y goalie isn't able to play a normal season in a championship ? He can't recuperate from one game a week ?

And please don't send me off with : just bad luck, bad goalie, ... cause if that is the case there are more bad players than " normal " players...

Yeah, the aging could be done much better. I'd like to see a change so that attribute maximums started to decline at 30, which is what actually happens anyway. Make youth-based attributes like speed decline faster than attributes like toughness. But keep recuperation levels the same.

I don't get the recuperation thing, to be honest. My best forward has decent stamina and is in his early 20's, but I can't get his fitness above 75 unless I rest him for 3 or 4 days between games.

Plus as spacedancer said, there should be differences between positions. Goalkeepers do not deteriorate with age at the same pace as forwards and the energy levels used in playing the two positions aren't comparable.
