SW in a 3 man defense

Now a SW can only play in a 5 man defense. and hardly anyone plays like this. So I thought maybe it would be good if a SW also could play in a 3 man defense! That way he won´t be useless like he is now!

CB can also play in a 5 man defense and a four man defense.
A SW can play in a 3 man defense and a 5 man defense.
And CB an SW players can play in 2 possible formations.

Make the SW and CB interchangable in a 3 man defence. And make it so that with the SW the tactics are more defensive than with the CB

As long as a SW won´t lose any rating points, it´s fine by me.

my sweeper is good enough to play as a cb anyway but i'd like it if he didn't lose anymore points!

Would make them a hell of a lot more useful, though a 5 man defence is more viable now it's still not entirely attractive, even if it was used as much as other tactics it still leaves sweepers at a disadvantage to other players in terms of usefulness. I'm sure plenty of ideas could be had, remove them entirely, let them lose only half the points they do currently for playing as a CB, let them give an extra bonus to defense (or midfield/forwards as they start counter attacks), remove them at let any CB perform as a sweeper etc. etc..

Still, allowing them in a 3 man defence is probably the easiest to implement even if not entirely keeping with how the game goes. (but then SWs are defenders anyway to that needed be the case if you look at things that way)

Definately have my support for something being done about the sweeper issue.

here's a real life example.

in my opinion john terry (chelsea and england) plays as a sweeper. he rarely pushes forward (apart from setpieces) and is often the last line of defence. he can also play in a 4 man, 3 man or 5 man defence without performing any worse. therefore why should sp sweepers suffer?

Yeah that´s true! And Terry is just 1 of many!

I agree. Has there ever really been a sweeper who can only play in that position. Generally, they're just an extra defensive CB.

i agree ... please do something about those sweepers, because otherwise, they are almost useless...
