With over 28,000 you can expect it to be slow. I believe the server was upgraded a couple of seasons back. If member numbers keep increasing then it will be a necessary step.

In my opinion its realy hypocritical to ask for this if you are not willing to spend a few euros on this project as a SP member.
I thing you should buy SP membership first and then post some requests like this one which needs to spend some money on
