Teamspirit...

I do not understand the point of teamspirit...
because new youths are bought, why should the whole team be affected?

I think "team gelling" should com into play and get rid of teamspirit...
Each player has increase in team gelling if they play and a decrease if they do not play...

And players should have 0% gelling when they first come to a club... And they perform better as they have an increased gelling...

And then the "teamspirit" is calculated from the average of the 11 players' gelling %s.

Any opinions?

My opinion:

Teamspirit is a part of the game. When playing 15 seasons you're kind of used to it, I guess. The teamspirit leads managers to make choices: strenghten your squad with new players and decrease the performance of the team for a while, or playing at your top the whole of the time.

Can you manage it? A way to manage it is to buy new players, one by one, and let your teamspirit maximise between those two buys...

thank you for your opinion...
And yes, I do agree, but I really do not understand the fact why everybody should be affected by a new player coming into the club!?
And why should everyone be affected when another leaves!?

The players playing with the player may be affected, for example, from my starting 11, my RB leaves... then the whole of my starting 11 may be affected... but why should my B-team suffer from it?

Why should you'r B team suffer?
Because most of us don't eaven have the option to make a B team.
This is a free game afterall and the game is the saim for everybody.

Why do you think this idea has anything to do with free and SPFA!?

I will show you an example…

Lets say Team X has 20 players…
And I decide to only use the players in bold…
And this should be the gelling (or teamspirit) in this case.;

GK - Player 1 - Gelling 100%
GK - Player 2 - Gelling 0%
LB - Player 3- Gelling 100%
LB - Player 4 - Gelling 0%
CB - Player 5 - Gelling 100%
CB - Player 6 - Gelling 0%
RB - Player 7 - Gelling 100%
LM - Player 8 - Gelling 100%

LM - Player 9 - Gelling 0%
CM - Player 10 - Gelling 100%
CM - Player 11 - Gelling 100%

CM - Player 12 - Gelling 0%
CM - Player 13 - Gelling 0%
RM - Player 14 - Gelling 100%
RM - Player 15 - Gelling 0%
LF - Player 16 - Gelling 100%
CF - Player 17 - Gelling 100%

CF - Player 18 - Gelling 0%
RF - Player 19 - Gelling 100%
RF - Player 20 - Gelling 0%

And therefore, team gelling is 100% (11X100=1100/11=100%).

But players 1, 3 and 5 gets injured…
So I have no other choice than to play players 2,4 and 6.

Then, this should happen…

GK - Player 1 - Gelling 100%
GK - Player 2 - Gelling 0%
LB - Player 3- Gelling 100%
LB - Player 4 - Gelling 0%
CB - Player 5 - Gelling 100%
CB - Player 6 - Gelling 0%
RB - Player 7 - Gelling 100%
LM - Player 8 - Gelling 100%

LM - Player 9 - Gelling 0%
CM - Player 10 - Gelling 100%
CM - Player 11 - Gelling 100%

CM - Player 12 - Gelling 0%
CM - Player 13 - Gelling 0%
RM - Player 14 - Gelling 100%
RM - Player 15 - Gelling 0%
LF - Player 16 - Gelling 100%
CF - Player 17 - Gelling 100%

CF - Player 18 - Gelling 0%
RF - Player 19 - Gelling 100%
RF - Player 20 - Gelling 0%

Teamspirit = 72.7% (3X0 + 8X100 = 800, 800/11=72.7)
And after a few days, the form should change to something like this;

GK - Player 1 - Gelling 84%
GK - Player 2 - Gelling 16%
LB - Player 3- Gelling 84%
LB - Player 4 - Gelling 16%
CB - Player 5 - Gelling 84%
CB - Player 6 - Gelling 16%
RB - Player 7 - Gelling 100%
LM - Player 8 - Gelling 100%
LM - Player 9 - Gelling 0%
CM - Player 10 - Gelling 100%
CM - Player 11 - Gelling 100%
CM - Player 12 - Gelling 0%
CM - Player 13 - Gelling 0%
RM - Player 14 - Gelling 100%
RM - Player 15 - Gelling 0%
LF - Player 16 - Gelling 100%
CF - Player 17 - Gelling 100%
CF - Player 18 - Gelling 0%
RF - Player 19 - Gelling 100%
RF - Player 20 - Gelling 0%

Injured players get decreased gelling as they do not play, and others increase as they start playing…

GET IT?

And btw, I would strongly advise everyone to copy before submitting their posts...
I had to write this shit out twice because this forum shit stopped me the first.

That is very nice, but team spirit feature is connected with transfers because we want to stop day trading. Because of team spirit transfer influence you can trade players as many as you like but you can not expect to win some serious games.

And, also, there is logic that transfers influence teams spirit in RL, because when a new player comes other players thinking about their position in a team and how will this transfer influence their carrier. Maybe they will become a little bit selfish during matches. And when players leave a team everybody lose a good friend... I could find few more reasons, but the main reason for me is that this team spirit system stops any kind of day trading attempts.

IMHO teamspirit is one of the best features of SP. It's just group pychology, very realistic. The whole "gelling" thing seems to be a bit far fetched. There are no A, B or C teams in SP you know.

well dejankol, I think you are right...
Its always useful to see the other side of the opinion...

But Rinus, on the game, it says "Can you manage it?"
I think the game is quite simple at the moment (or maybe because people helped me become a great manager lol)...

No need for that Lee.

Team spirit is the constraint in sp. It's there to make life a little harder that's all. [/quote]

I know, but it is very annoying when you write a post spending a few minutes, and then just find out that its all gone. And it says go back to find it, but its GONE! How would you feel!?

And I was saying, how about, make life even harder?

How would you feel if you made your topic in a forum part where a hundred other topics are opened by spambots advertising their sites? :)
That little thing that kept you from posting is one of the ways implemented to prevent this.
I know it's not that 'cool' but just try to copy your text if it's a real big one, we all have to do it.

That is what I have decided to do in the future...
