New idea (Skills)

This is the best soccer-manager-game but 1 thing is in my eyes a little unrealistic about the skills...
Maybe this idea is already set but i didn't found...

A player is training (example shooting) and one day he is full trainend... Is it possible to make the training 'exponentieel'? What do i mean with that:

Example
5 mai: the player is shooting skill is 13 (+8)
6 mai: the player is shooting skill is 21 (+7)
7 mai: the player is shooting skill is 28 (+6)
8 mai: the player is shooting skill is 34 (+6)
9 mai: the player is shooting skill is 39 (+5)
10 mai: the player is shooting skill is 44 (+5)
11 mai: the player is shooting skill is 48 (+4)
12 mai: the player is shooting skill is 52 (+4)
13 mai: the player is shooting skill is 55 (+3)
14 mai: the player is shooting skill is 58 (+3)
15 mai: the player is shooting skill is 61 (+3)
16 mai: the player is shooting skill is 63 (+2)
17 mai: the player is shooting skill is 65 (+2)
18 mai: the player is shooting skill is 67 (+2)
19 mai: the player is shooting skill is 68 (+1)
20 mai: the player is shooting skill is 69 (+1)
21 mai: the player is shooting skill is 70 (+1)
22 mai: the player is shooting skill is 71 (+1)
23 mai: the player is shooting skill is 71 (+0)
24 mai: the player is shooting skill is 72 (+1)
25 mai: the player is shooting skill is 72 (+0)
26 mai: the player is shooting skill is 72 (+0)
27 mai: the player is shooting skill is 72 (+0)
28 mai: the player is shooting skill is 73 (+1)

NOW is the player full-trained...

What you think managers?

a player can train acually 5% of his quality per day.every simulation he raise 1% at the selected skill.so it is exponential.you can train however you want.is the same thing.is good like is now.

I disagree. Realize what time would it take to fully train all the skills !
By your formula it would last after 6 months (3 seasons) an because of this I disagree.

And what if the values got changed? Maybe +10, +10, +9, +8... or something, so it would take the same amount of time to train a player. What we're judging here is the structure. Not that I consider it needs to be changed, though.

It is just an example, it can be faster... i am not the maker ;) just someone with (bad) idea's ;)

Its not bad idea. I dont care about slowing down training proces it makes game more realistic. Only one problem should be that it should also slow down simulation speed.

You're first chance to get a youth player is within 20 days after your basic youth centre is ready. So I don't think those 20 days are passed yet?

I like it. Not with the values you have, but the "exponential" idea I like.

It would be cool if the training goes really fast in the start, and then slows doen to how it is now.

This way youth-players don't need 2 full seasons to get to their Max level, but a little less.

Also, beginning teams will catch up quicker with older teams, making teams more equal in the lower divisions.

Good idea!

(I think it is already a little bit like that, young players with low skills sometimes get more than 1 skillpoint over a simulation. But I'm not sure... who knows this?)

I dont know what do you talk about. It can be REALY exponencial. For example:
Fully trained player has 82 overal rating. He can be trained to 80-81 in one and half a season (by switching trained skills at the right moment). And then it will take lets say one season to reach that 1 or 2 remaining percent(s).
The speed of training isnt neccesary to be a constant value. It can be derived from players max. (skill with maximum 95 will grow faster at the begining than skill he has maximum at 60). Useing this you could approximately estimate players skill before its maxed (another interesting feature).

Michal, are you now pro or contra :p ?

And thanks for explaining it better sljivovica ;) That was indeed my idea... :)

Some people here, like Pipkin and Unicool, completely misunderstood the idea. Samhye wasn’t suggesting the training would take longer, he was suggesting that instead of linear improvement of skills, it would be exponential, and altogether take the same amount of time. This is a good idea in many levels: it makes the game more realistic, and – as Sljvovica pointed out – it will allow new teams to catch up quicker with old ones. If it is indeed not too complicated technically and does not slow down simulation, I’m for it. Good idea.
