I know that I was first to speak "add a pitch picture to make SP more realistic", however I think that the silouetes of the players are not necessary.
I know that now the bugs can be solved, but my idea:
The litch picture is OK, I like it. Instead of a player silouette there could be small picture of cards given to that player as it is down in the table. Adn the next thing, under the players name box there could be shown his individual order.
So at once - replace the huge player pictures with small card-given picture (the same as down in the table) and add individual order under each name box (for example written in italic - will be showing current individual order set).
Another tip is just to make the picture clear to know what individual order every player has.
I make right here an example.
Your LB/RB can play on the wing or can play it out (now we put out normal order, when just happens nothing). If they play along the wing, there will be an arrow pointing toward the attack - you see, that his individual order is play along wing and you get the information, what does it mean to play along the wing. Has he to play it out ? OK, so another arrow, poitning somewhere between the midfield and attack to make the manager know, what he can expect - the defensemen will play long balls out of the box.
Are the side backs playing offensively (individual offensive) ? Put them out of the defence line slightly towards the midfield.
Midfield - play along wing - mentioned.
- passing - arrows pointing into the middle of the pitch to other team players, indicating his order
- is the midfielder offensive/defensive ? Put him slightly towards/backwards from the line to make the manager know what the player plays
Attack - free role - I have to think about the picture

Dunno the two others in english, but the first one will be picture of the ball with an arrow pointing onto the goal - as a final striker.
The second - player playing himself - will have a picture of circle of arrows pointing inside the circle..
