Hi all,
we passed the deadline for subscriptions - 18 teams have accepted the invitation. So that means 14 teams are already qualified to the group stage and remaining 4 teams will play the qualification round. Here is how the pots for group stage will look like:
POT1: Chelsea champion (BUL), S.S. Wallachs (ROM), me_dinamo (ROM), rogiboys (BEL) POT2: FC Remedy (NED), AC Draha Prague (CZE), Sparta Palmeiras (BEL), lesbuffalos (BEL) POT3: U.C.SAMPDORIA (BUL), KFC Heist (BEL), fc ragutis (LIT), Scolopax (CZE) POT4: FC Komunisti (SVK), Dvaro FC (LIT), 2 winners of qualification
Qualification [/b]will be played in the first weekend of season 74 (Fri 10 - Sun 12 Feb). This is the draw:
Q1:
FC Jazero (SVK) - FK Kabelwerk (AUT)
FK Kabelwerk (AUT) - FC Jazero (SVK)
Q2:
FC Valid (NED) - Giants of Albion (ENG)
Giants of Albion (ENG) - FC Valid (NED)
This season we have 9 countries represented in total. After quite a long time, Czech Republic is not the country with the highest number of participants - they will only have two teams in this season. One of them - AC Draha Prague - will try to defend their last season's title. However they are not the favorite of this season - Czech team is even not in the first pot. For the first time in the history, most of the teams are coming from Belgium (4).
Looking at the historical data, here are some interesting statistics:
- this is already quite a usual fact - FC Remedy wasn't missing in any of the previous seasons - this will be their 9th appearance in a row. It's very impressive statistics. On the other hand, in last three seasons they always ended in Quarterfinal round. This time it might be even harder to get higher, because this time Dutch team will be drawn "only" from the second pot.
- Chelsea champion is back to the tournament after a very long time. Bulgarian team played only in first two SPCL seasons (2nd place in the opening season followed by QF round in the next one) - however this time they are the highest seeded team and that means they are the biggest favorite of this season.
- rogiboys will play their 5th season - their historical maximum is 3rd place from last season. It will be also 5th season for FK Kabelwerk, however in previous 4 appearances they qualified to QF round only once (season 4) - and this time they even need to fight for the group stage in Qualification.
- out of 18 teams, only 5 teams will have a premiere in the tournament: S.S. Wallachs, Sparta Palmeiras, fc ragutis, FC Komunisti and Dvaro FC. Good results are expected mainly from the first two, but usually we have some surprises from lower seeded teams

One small update: I just got a message from manager of me_dinamo - unfortunately, he plans to retire from the game and therefore he decided not to join this season of the SPCL.
Therefore we will have one more free slot in the group stage. I don't want to touch the draw of qualification - so I decided that this will be played according to the plan. Both winners will qualify to the group stage - that's thay unchanged. However, plus on top - one of the two beaten teams will get the 16th position in the group stage. The criteria will be following: 1. sum of the line ratings from both games; 2. fair-play (yellow card = 1pt, red card = 2pt).

There was a small mistake in setting up the games between Giants of Albion and FC Valid. This results in a delay in finishing the battle - the second leg is scheduled on Tuesday. Despite this, I will proceed with the Group stage draw still tomorrow - so at least most of the games will be already clear and managers can start to organize them. The duel is still open, as the first leg finished with an 1:1 draw at the stadium of FC Valid.
The other game between FC Jazero and FK Kabelwerk brought quite good games. Slovak team won both games and qualified to the group stage. In the first leg, they also shown a nice performance (141). Despite the defeat in both games, FK Kabelwerk has pretty good chance to get the last ticket for this season's group stage. As I wrote before, the better team of defeated qualificants will continue further - and Austrians are now in a better position. Their sum of lineratings from both games is 273. This means, that the defeated team of the Tuesday's game between Giants of Albion and FC Valid needs to play over 140.
FC Jazero - FK Kabelwerk 3:2 (1:0)G: Potter, Pinas, Värri - Roberts 2 / P: 141 - 137 / A: 9763
FK Kabelwerk - FC Jazero 1:2 (0:1)G: Roberts - Värri 2 / P: 136 - 139 / A: 6615
FC Valid - Giants of Albion 1:1 (1:0)G: Dambenieks - Kilbane / P: 133 - 132 / A: 10038

Here is the Draw of 9th season's Group stage. Teams can start to setup their games (= send invitations for their home games). There are still two names missing (Winner of Q2 and then better team of defeated qualificants) - so these will be announced tomorrow afternoon once the Qualification is completed. It's up to you. You can setup even more games - not sure how much in advance you are allowed to do this by SP right now The full schedule is already published at the beginning of this topic (page 1), so you can see all 6 rounds.

Giants of Albion - FC Valid 2:3 (0:3)G: Berbic, Andres Garcia - Mance 2, Dambenieks (P) / P: 121 - 132 / A: 6071
This means, that FC Valid (NED) joins the group D as a winner of Q2. The last 16th position in the group stage draw belongs to a better team from those not successful in qualification games. Looking at the line ratings, FK Kabelwerk played significantly better in their qualification games compared to Giants of Albion - and therefore Austrian team is the last one to join group stage. FK Kabelwerk will play group C.
As the group stage is finalized, here is my view on upcoming weeks:
GROUP A:
One of the biggest favorites of this season - Chelsea champion - will finish on the top of this group. Bulgarian teams return to the competition after a long break (they played only in first two SPCL seasons). It will not be an easy group for them for sure - the second place should go for a novice in the tournament. Sparta Palmeiras was promoted to SP A division last season - and they started the season well (after 6 rounds they sit on 4th place). The other two teams (Scolopax and Dvaro FC) will most likely just play for a 3rd place in a group.
GROUP B:
There is no clear favorite in group B and here we can see some surprises. S.S. Wallachs is the biggest favorite for the victory, but lesbuffalos have very good chances to win this group as well. We shouldn't forget the other two teams - KFC Heist will be most likely actively fighting for the second place. And FC Jazero shown some good performance already in the qualification round.
GROUP C:
Winner of last SPCL season has a good chance to win group C - AC Draha Prague was close to relegation from A division and they will fight to survive again, however Czech team should still be able to play a very high standard. U.C. SAMPDORIA should qualify to Quarter-final round as well, they might even fight for a group victory. Remaining teams (FC Komunisti, FK Kabelwerk) will most likely fight just for 3rd place, but they both can surprise and make the group more dramatic.
GROUP D:
Two traditional teams of the competition - FC Remedy and rogiboys - will fight for the group victory - it's very difficult to say who's favorite here and any detail can decide here. Lithuanian fc ragutis will play the tournament for their first time - so they might bring some surprises. Last season we had similar situation in group D - another team from Lithuania (FK Baleliai) was very close to a group victory - they lost the leading position against rogiboys in last round. FC Valid won the qualification game - but they will need to improve their performance if they want to think about some victories in this group.

Gregoric, your comments are fine and quite correct
I played @ full risk against chelsea for the competition and champions league, but i didn’t managed to reach a point.
I’ll spare my luck for the finals
ROUND 1 SUMMARY: NO BIG SURPRISES IN THE OPENING WEEKEND
The group stage started last weekend with first round. The round will be completed only next weekend with the game of group D between rogiboys and FC Valid. In all remaining games, group favorites confirmed the expectations.
The best game of this round could be seen in group C - latest SPCL Champion, AC Draha Prague, started in a big style. Czech team shown a the best performance of the round (147) and thanks to that they beaten U.C. SAMPDORIA 3:2. It was the only game so far where both teams played at least 140 (that's exactly the performance of Bulgarian team). In Group A, Sparta Palmeiras played slightly behind the expectations (131) - they started the season with a 0:1 loss at the stadium of Chelsea champion. In the second game of this group, Dvaro FC took an important away victory at the stadium of Scolopax - Lithuanian team also shown the second best away performance of the round (139) - and it seems they might get a chance to fight for the Quarterfinals.
History:
First season: 51 - 1. in H.890; Winner of G (53), F (54), E (57, 63 & 78), D (64, 70 & 79), C (65) and B (81). Played 2 seasons in A division (73 & 82).
All games of round 2 updated, including table standings and top scorers.
The missing game of group D round 1 ended with an expected victory of rogiboys. Fans could see 7 goals in total and a very good performance of Belgian team (144). rogiboys - FC Valid 4:3 (3:2)G: Jumpp 2, Radic, Dansoko - Mance, Zelenkov, Kuyateh / P: 144 - 135 / A: 7251
Round 2 summary:
Group A continues without surprises - both Chelsea champion and Sparta Palmeiras took quite easy victories. Compared to the first round, Sparta Palmeiras played much better - they shown the second best performance of the round (145).
On the opposite to this, group B brought little surprises - both games of the second round ended with a goal-less draw. In both cases, favorites played away and in both cases they were unlucky - lesbuffalos lost two points at FC Jazero after +2 performance (140 vs 138). By the way - this was the game with highest attendance in this season so far (10.340 fans). In terms of luck, S.S. Wallachs ended up even worse - they couldn't score any goal after +6 performance.
No surprises in group C - AC Draha Prague took an away victory in Austria, thanks to the hattrick of Burdisso. Another favorite of the group confirmed the home side advantage - U.C. SAMPDORIA won 3:1 against FC Komunisti.
Group D brought the weakest performance so far - fc ragutis played only 99 home against rogiboys. Thanks to this fact, Belgians won 6:2 - so far the highest victory of the season. It was a great game for Jumpp who scored 4 goals - he is also currently the leading scorer of the season (6 goals). Similarly to rogiboys - FC Remedy has also 6 points after two rounds - this time they succeed in the dutch derby at the stadium of FC Valid. And they also shown the best performance of this round (146). Interestingly, FC Remedy scored only two goals so far - completely different picture than rogiboys (10 goals in 2 games).
Please remember - according to the schedule, two games are planned during upcoming weekend (round 3 & 4) - so make sure you setup all games in advance.
