@Milko, I think it was a great season for you as well! I thought you still have a chance to win this season, as Noldor is not on their 100% yet.

As both managers of our Finalists helped me to summarize the Final round I will just add - Noldor played 149 in both games, which is this season max. I know we still have 3rd place games scheduled on Friday, but I don't expect these games would break the record. So the max performances (as well as average performances throughout the season) were slightly lower compared to previous 1-2 seasons, but I still see this as a very decent SPCL season. It was negatively affected by the fact that some teams started a reconstruction during the season - so they played lower than I expected.
On the other hand, after 4 seasons we have a top scorer with a two-digit count - Noldor's CF Vanderlinden scored one goal in Final round and he's now leading the rank with 10 goals. His victory is not yet confirmed - there are two more games to go and there's one player with quite a good chance to fight for the title - my team's CF Nir Ghrayib is just two goals behind. SAMPDORIA's top striker Daraselia scored 6 goals, so he would need to get at least 4 goals to get to a shared leading position.

We also had quite a solid attendance - the maximum 15.110 fans is one of the highest in the history. This can also be theoretically improved on Friday morning - SAMPDORIA's seasonal average attendance (8 games) is 11.995 and they also hold the historical record - 15.916 from last season. FC Rovinka will not break the record for sure - I still need to significantly improve my fanbase

The last two games will not dramatically impact the historical rank - FC Rovinka currently holds 13th place and potential success in Friday games will not change this. SAMPDORIA is now on 16th place, in case they succeed on Friday, they'll replace my team on 13th position.

As written earlier, Noldor is the first team with 3 titles in the history. In their 6 appearances, they got 6 medals. Looking at points, they collected 47 points in total (average 7.83 per season) - now they're exactly 10 points ahead of FC Remedy. And that means Noldor will stay on top as well after next season no matter if they play or not (although I have a feeling that they will continue to increase the gap between first and second place).
With silver medal, The Last Mohycan now took over the 3rd position. Slovak team has 34 points in total, exactly the same as U.C.SAMPDORIA, however they're more efficient than Bulgarian opponent. Mohycans played only 4 seasons, while U.C. played two more season - so on average per season, The Last Mohycan is the most successful team so far (8.50 pts per season).
There are no changes in the country rank - Czech republic still holds the leading position with 103.60 points (two Czech teams qualified to QF round). Bulgaria is second with a loss over 30 points (they got exactly 70 points) - but SAMPDORIA can still bring some additional points if they win on Friday. Slovakia is third with 63.70 points, but FC Rovinka can also bring some points on Friday.
Interestingly, Sweden is now 6th just 1.75 points behind Netherlands - and all points for Sweden were collected by a single team (Noldor). Next season Sweden can even enter the Top 5!

I'll bring the last update on 13th season on Friday, and then as usual, I'll try to continue with 14th season at the end of SP season 83.

A great start of the battle for bronze for FC Rovinka. A victory away, two goals scored - this will be difficult to SAMPDORIA to turn the score around. With scoring the winning goal in 88' min, Nir Ghrayib is now just a goal behind the leading position in the Top scorer rank.

FC Rovinka takes the bronze medal!

The last game of 13th SPCL season just finished - my team confirmed the morning victory as well as my home stadium. FC Rovinka won 3:2 against SAMPDORIA and finished 3rd.
In my 6th appearance in the tournament, it's the second medal - again bronze. Nir Ghrayib scored the third goal of the game and that means we have now two top scorers with 10 goals - Vanderlinden (Noldor) and Ghrayib (FC Rovinka).

Hi all,
season 83 finished yesterday and as usual, I started to work on preparation work for season 14. A very positive surprise for me here is, that in just one day the list of participants is fixed! So with this, the list is frozen and no other teams can be included. So here it is:

SEASON 14:

We'll have 18 teams playing next season representing 8 countries. Most teams are playing under Czech flag - 5, there are also 3 teams from Slovakia and Romania, 2 teams from Netherlands and Belgium and then with one team we will see Sweden, Italy and Bulgaria.

Out of 18 teams, 7 will play their very first season - and there are some very interesting names in this group. The most traditional teams in this season are Noldor, Primisimo FC and FC Rovinka. It will be already the 7th appearance for this trio. Noldor is also sitting on the top of SPCL's historical rank - in each of their previous apperarance, they finished in top 3 (3 gold medals, one silver and two bronze). Primisimo FC was also doing quite well in the past - they got one silver and two bronze medals, but in recent times they only finished their journey in group stage (3rd place in the group in seasons 10 & 13). In the historical rank, Czech team is currently holding 7th position. My team, FC Rovinka, has two bronze medals - in remaining 4 appearances I finished already in the group stage. Currently holding 13th place in the historical rank, but as the team will be seeded from the highest pot, I'll do my best to get into the historical Top 10 this time!
Speaking about the historical Top 10, there are two additional teams in there which were going through reconstruction in past seasons and therefore missed last seasons of SPCL. But now they're coming back to upper divisions of SP and I am very glad to have them in SPCL again! So these are - Chelsea champion (historically 6th, one gold and two silver medals) - they played in very first two seasons (Final and QF) and later in seasons 9 (Final) and 10 (Winner). The other one is Totemo Baka - Czech team only played two times, but in both cases they got silver medals after defeat in the Final round against The Last Mohycan - seasons 5 & 6.
Another teams coming back to the competition are marcelinho (played seasons 3 - 7, maximum was a QF round), Viastore (played 3 seasons, once in QF), FCB Eruveo (2 seasons, once in QF), MSK_Profirol (2 seasons), FC Otelul II Galati (played season 11) and SC Rotterdam (played season 12).

Looking at SP season 83, we have 5 teams from A division, 7 from B (2 winners, second teams from all 3 divisions) and 6 from C (3 winners, 2 teams finished second). So for next season, 10 teams will be playing A (I think this is the historical max), 7 teams will play B and just one representing C division (Dourbes finished 3rd this season, so they'll continue to play in C8 division).

The group stage of 14th SPCL season will start over the weekend. The draw is already available, here is the review of all 4 groups.

GROUP A:
The biggest favorite of this season, highest seeded team and as well the winner of last season - Noldor - will surely have the highest aspirations again. Although there are 3 teams from A division in the group, Noldor should get quite a comfortable position in this group. While the first place seem to be clear, the fight for second place can be very dramatic here. The other two teams from A division have quite comparable quality - both of them are staying in the relegation zone since the beginning of the season and they can expect a difficult fight to survive in A. I see very slightly higher chances for FC Otelul II Galati, but they'll be very close to SC Rotterdam. And I believe that Chelsea champion will be also fighting for second place - their disadvantage might be already a high age of the squad.

GROUP B:
This is a Czecho-Romanian group with two favorites - I expect a hard fight for the 1st place between FCB Eruveo and FC Weed. Both teams have a good start into the season, FC Weed is currently holding 3rd place in A division. I see Romanian team as bigger favorite for victory, but it will be quite an equal game between both of them. The other two teams can make this group more dramatic, but it will not be enough to get through to the Quarterfinal round. FC Poli Timisoara just won the Qualification round last weekend and they have a good chance to take the third place - but anything better would be a surprise - on the other hand we saw quite many surprises in the history of this tournament, so never say never Primisimo FC has a difficult start to their season in B division, they only got 2 points out of 5 rounds, but they still have a potential to improve.

GROUP C:
I think this is the most difficult group - and I was not that happy with the draw I did earlier today
There are three teams playing A division - and none of them is doing bad so far. And it's not just that, the fourth one is on a good way to play A next season - FC Meangreen's squad is already full of big stars! So, this can be the most tricky and dramatic group, where all (or at least 3) teams might be fighting for Quarterfinal till the last round. The lowest chances I see for Viastore, mainly because the team has the oldest players and that might become the key factor. But they still have a real chance to fight for play-offs, so I am very curious to see the results in this group. Predicting the order of other three teams is literally impossible - I'll just do my best to go through to the QF round.

GROUP D:
MŠK Žilina has a good chance to win the group in their first appearance. They'll also play a Slovak derby against MSK_Profirol - both teams are playing in A division, the first one is doing better so far - and they also have slightly better squad (as well with lower aggression). The fight for second place will most likely be between MSK_Profirol and berusky - Czech team won the qualification round and with their new generation, they're currently fighting to get back into A division. Italian team marcelinho is getting back to SPCL after 5 seasons, their maximum is QF (season 3) - after that they always finished 3rd in the group. I don't expect them to go higher this season, but on the other hand the team has enough experience to do some good results here.

Round 1 - quick summary:

Most of the opening games of this season's group stage ended as expected, but we also had some surprises - mainly in group B & D.

In Group A, Noldor started the season with an easy win against SC Rotterdam (2:0, 143 - 128) and FC Otelul II Galati won 2:1 (146 - 133) against Chelsea champion. It was a very good game and an important win for Romanians, while Chelsea stayed a bit behind the expectations.
In their premiere, FC Weed won 1:0 against Primisimo FC (145 - 137) - well deserved victory, although the team didn't show their best yet. The other game was probably the biggest surprise of this round. FCB Eruveo lost their home game against FC Poli Timisoara 0:1 (135 - 138). Czech team played lower than expected, Timisoara used that opportunity and after winning the Qualification round, they might be also fighting for the play-offs.
A Czechoslovak derby between my team and Totemo Baka ended well for me - FC Rovinka won 3:2 (146 - 143) and got 3 very important points. FC Meangreen started in a big style as well, with the best away performance of the round, Dutch team won 1:0 at the stadium of Viastore (146 - 134). Viastore stayed far behind their optimum, but they still have a good potential to fight for play-offs.
The biggest favorite of group D - MŠK Žilina - lost two points home after playing a 1:1 draw against berusky (145 - 146). Although Czech team was seeded from the lowest pot and had to go through Qualification round - I expected them to fight for 2nd place. Now I should say, they'll be fighting for a group victory! In the second game MSK_Profirol lost 2:3 with marcelinho (137 - 139) - this was quite an equal game.

Round 2 - summary

GROUP A: Noldor continues as expected - they won as well their second game, this time at the stadium of Chelsea champion. Bulgarian team still plays a bit behind expectation, although they improved the performance, they're lineratings are still below 140. The second game between SC Rotterdam and FC Otelul II Galati ended with a 2:2 draw - I believe Romanian team could be quite happy with a point collected away - with that they keep holding the second place in the group, still with 3 points advantage. They might lose that advantage after next weekend, as they will play twice against Noldor, but as expected, this group will stay open till at least 5th round. Chelsea champion will need to improve for next weekend, so they can get their first point, which would also bring them back to the fight for play-offs.

GROUP B: A favorite of this group is doing well as well - FC Weed scored 5 goals away in a Romanian derby, but that was mainly thanks to a fact that FC Poli Timisoara didn't play with their best players - which resulted in a very poor performance (118). In the Czech derby, Primisimo FC won 1:0 against FCB Eruveo, which means that the highest seeded team (FCB Eruveo) is currently holding the last position with 0 points. They'll now play two games against FC Weed in upcoming weekend, so Czech team needs to show their best if they want to stay in a game for play-offs.

GROUP C: The two leading teams were playing against each other, the top game in this season so far ended with a 0:0 draw. FC Meangreen was a favorite of the game, as they played at home and the team had a potential to play over 150, but they stayed slightly behind (they also had a very early injury in 7' min). FC Rovinka shown the highest performance of this season (149) - but it wasn't enough to get the victory. After a defeat in the first game, Totemo Baka won the Czech derby with Viastore, and it was an easy win 5:2 (148 - 113). While Viastore is holding the last position with 0 points, the other three teams are very close to each other - so as expected, this group will be very dramatic. Next weekend will bring two games between Totemo Baka and FC Meangreen - these will be potentially great game with top performances.

GROUP D: A most surprising group so far, teams from bottom pots are sitting on top of the table. Italian team marcelinho won both games against Slovak team with identical result 3:2. berusky took an important victory against MSK_Profirol (3:2, 144 - 142) and they're now 2 points behind the leader. And next weekend will bring two games between berusky and marcelinho, so they can shuffle the table a bit. I expected this will be quite an easy group for MŠK Žilina, however they just got a point in opening two games. Next two games are critical, as they can get one team already out of the game.

As you could read from the summary, next weekend is scheduled with two rounds (3 & 4), don't forget to set all your games well in advance.

ROUND 3 & 4 - SUMMARY

Two rounds were scheduled over the weekend - and in some groups it brought a lot of clarity, but in some (mainly group C) the situation is still very open. Only one team has already qualified to play-offs so far, although there are two more teams that are almost there.

GROUP A
After 4 games, Noldor is the only team without any loss - and the only team already confirmed for QF. Over the weekend, Noldor won the two games against FC Otelul II Galati. As expected, Romanian team didn't get any points in the weekend and fell down to 3rd position in the table, currently staying 3 points behind SC Rotterdam. Dutch team won both games against Chelsea champion, as Chelsea couldn't really improve their performance (their max is "just" 139). Thanks to this, Bulgarian team is also the last one with 0 points so far, all other teams could get at least some draw(s).
With two rounds to go - it's pretty clear that Noldor will get the first place (they are now +5), I expect that FC Otelul II Galati will take the second place - most likely the decision will come in last round where Romanian team plays home against SC Rotterdam.

GROUP B
FC Weed is on their way to Play-offs. With 4 points collected against FCB Eruveo, they are now 3 points ahead of Primisimo FC and 6 points ahead of FC Poli Timisoara. There is still a theoretical option that they'll finish 3rd, but the chances are really minimal in case of a crazy combination of two defeats for FC Weed (including a need for FC Poli Timisoara to win at least 4:0 away
Primisimo FC also took 4 points against FC Poli Timisoara over the weekend - thanks to this, they are now sitting on 2nd place with 3 points advantage, and very close to Quarterfinals, as Timisoara would need to get at least 4 points more than Primisimo FC in remaining two games. FCB Eruveo was seeded from the highest pot, but they're almost out - with one point in the pocket, FCB still holds a theoretical chance to take the second place, but it doesn't seem realistic.

GROUP C
This group continues to be very dramatic. All four teams got 3 points over the weekend, so the table stayed the same. Difference between first and last team is just 4 points, third team is just one point behind the leading position. My team (FC Rovinka) holds the leading position, but I hoped to get more points - after initial victory against Viastore 2:1 (148 - 139), we lost the away game in Czech republic. The game was affected by red cards, FC Rovinka only played 132 and lost 2:3. With this result, Viastore still keeps their chances alive, however they're showing the lowest performances so far. Next weekend will bring a very interesting game between Totemo Baka and FC Rovinka - critical game for the home side, as this can get Czech team on the top of the table as well as out of the game. FC Meangreen can also take over the leading position in case they win against Viastore, but most likely the decision will only come in last round in the game between FC Rovinka and FC Meangreen.

GROUP D
This group is a biggest surprise for me so far. The two games between marcelinho and berusky finished with an equal result - both teams won their home games 3:2. That means, marcelinho still holds the leading position, two points ahead of their Czech rival. The biggest favorite of the group continues as they started - MŠK Žilina holds the last position with just 2 points in their pocket. In theory, they could still get up and take the second place, but it's highly unlikely. But, thanks to their first 4 points collected over the weekend, MSK_Profirol keeps their chances open - next weekend they play a critical game away at marcelinho, is MSK succeeds their chances would become very real.

ROUND 5 - SUMMARY

In addition to Noldor, after last weekend there are 3 more teams already qualified to the Quarterfinal round - FC Weed, FC Rovinka and FC Meangreen. Remaining 4 places are still open - and there are 7 teams fighting for them.

GROUP A
Both games ended with a 2:2 draw, so the table look identical as one round before. However this also means that Noldor is now confirmed winner of the group, currently 5 points ahead of the second place. And it also means that Chelsea champion get their first point so we have no team with 0 points anymore. Next round will bring the key game to reveal a second team for the play-off: FC Otelul II Galati plays against SC Rotterdam (Saturday at 10am). Romanian team is 3 points behind, but in case they win (with any result), they'll go through. Looking at their games in this SPCL season so far as well as A division result, Otelul is a favorite of the game - but I don't expect big difference in the performance.

GROUP B
Similarly to group A, FC Weed is already confirmed winner of the group. With the away victory 2:1 at the stadium of Primisimo FC, their advantage is even higher than Noldor's - 6 points. FC Poli Timisoara won 3:2 against FCB Eruveo and therefore they're now attacking the second position. Primisimo FC lost the advantage, both teams have 7 points at this moment. Still, situation looks slightly better for Czech team, as they have a relatively easier game next weekend (at the stadium of FCB Eruveo). FC Poli Timisoara plays at the stadium of FC Weed and they need to get more points than Primisimo FC.

GROUP C
Totemo Baka lost home against FC Rovinka 0:1 and that means game over for Czech team, because they're now 4 points behind the leading duo. It was a very dramatic game, with a lucky end for my team. FC Meangreen confirmed the expectations and they also took three points after a 3:2 victory against Viastore. Next round will decide who takes the first place. FC Rovinka hosts FC Meangreen (Sat at 10am), home side needs a victory or a 0:0 draw to secure the leading position, other results would get Dutch team on top of the group.

GROUP D
Not really expected, but this group is now the most open from all. MSK_Profirol started with two defeats, but with 7 points collected in last three games, they are fully in the fight for play-offs. During the weekend, they took a very important victory at marcelinho (1:0) and that means that MSK is still just three points behind berusky and two points behind marcelinho. And this is a tricky situation for berusky. Although they are on top of the group, Czech team plays their last game away with MSK_Profirol (Sun at 2pm). In case they lose the game and score less than 2 goals, they can fall down to 3rd place. MŠK Žilina will definitely finish 4th in the group - in last game they'll play for their first victory, but marcelinho will do their best to win the game, as that would definitely send them to play-offs.

ROUND 6 SUMMARY, COMPLETION OF THE GROUP STAGE

Remaining open positions for play-offs were covered over last week and this is how it went:

- SC Rotterdam defended their second position with a 2:2 draw away at FC Otelul II Galati. Romanian team needed a win to go through, but they only played 137, their worst performance in this SPCL season. In their second appearance, this is Rotterdam's Quarterfinal premiere.
- interesting situation in group B, where FC Poli Timisoara was fighting (remotely) for second place with Primisimo FC. On Saturday, Timisoara first got an important point in the Romanian derby against FC Weed - they played 0:0 away and it was not only a surprise, but it was also a bit unlucky game for the hosts, as they played 2 points higher than FC Weed (144 vs 142). But even a victory would not be enough, because yesterday Primisimo FC won the Czech derby at the stadium of FCB Eruveo - with the only goal scored by Thiry. WIth this victory, Primisimo FC has 10 points in their pocket and after a long break, they'll play Quarterfinal again.
- FC Rovinka hosted FC Meangreen in the fight for the victory in group C. I needed a win or 0:0 draw, but the game was led by a very strict referee. Partially thanks to that (Rovinka got 1 red card) and also thanks to an injury of our top striker Ghrayib, the team played lower than I hoped for and lost the game 0:1 (142 - 149). That means that Dutch team takes the first place, while FC Rovinka finished second.
- in group D, marcelinho first secured the play-offs with an easy win 2:0 away at MŠK Žilina. Yesterday the group was completed with the game between MSK_Profirol and berusky. Homeside would need a victory to go through, but this didn't happen. With one red card, MSK_Profirol played 140 - 4 points less than berusky - lost the game 3:4 and that means the end of journey for another Slovak team in this group. berusky defended their leading position in group D, marcelinho is second.

For the teams that are ending the SPCL season at this stage - thanks for your participation!

This is how teams are seeded for Quarterfinal draw - the draw is open with the only rule that two teams form the same group can't play against each other.

POT1 (Group winners): Noldor (SWE), FC Weed (ROM), FC Meangreen (NED), berusky (CZE)
POT2 (runners up): SC Rotterdam (NED), Primisimo FC (CZE), FC Rovinka (SVK), marcelinho (ITA)

In overall, 6 flags still in the game, Netherlands and Czech republic will be represented by two teams. Interesting thing is that two teams seeded for group stage from pot 1 are already out, and they finished last in their groups (MŠK Žilina, FCB Eruveo). Only Noldor confirmed the expectation and won their group, FC Rovinka finished "only" second - but this was in the most difficult group this season. Another group winner is from POT2 (FC Weed) and two winners are from the lowest seeded pot - FC Meangreen and berusky! But, both of them are on their way up to SP A division, so in next division they are expected much higher.

So you can go ahead and setup the QF games for upcoming weekend. This is what we have:

QF1: SC Rotterdam (NED) - FC Meangreen (NED)
Dutch derby between the teams who never played this round. But I have to say, they didn't have many other changes in the past - for FC Meangreen this is the first appearance, while their opponent played back in season 12. Favorite of this game is very clear - FC Meangreen won the most difficult group with 3 teams from A division - and they only lost 5 points there! Rotterdam's maximum in group stage was 144, in one case it also brought a nice draw against Noldor, but they usually played under 140.

QF2: marcelinho (ITA) - FC Weed (ROM)
Similarly to SC Rotterdam, marcelinho is another surprise in the QF round. In their 6th appearance, this will be just their second QF - but Italians were wainting for this ages, as the previous one was in season 3. FC Weed plays their premiere season and they're doing well so far - it's one of only two teams that haven't lost a game yet. Romanian team is also quite a big favorite, their average performance (143.67) is higher than marcelinho's max (142).

QF3: Primisimo FC (CZE) - Noldor (SWE)
This is the fight of historically very successful teams - Noldor won group A with 16 out of possible 18 points, they're on top of A division as well as top of SPCL historical rank. Primisimo FC has a strong record in SPCL - previously they played the tournament 6 times, where they collected 3 medals (1 x silver, 2 x bronze) + one 4th place. However, this was also in the old days, they latest success was in season 8, since then they only played twice and always finished 3rd in group. I don't see big chances, they would need quite some luck to stop the biggest favorite of (not only) this tournament.

QF4: FC Rovinka (SVK) - berusky (CZE)
Czechoslovak derby will be probably the most dramatic. In their premiere, berusky started already from Qualification round - and after a success there, they also won group D. I expected them to be in QF, but not to win the group, but the biggest favorite there stayed behind the expectations, and berusky used the situation really well. My team finished second behind FC Meangreen in a dramatic group C - but now getting a real chance to get into top 4. FC Rovinka finished bronze last season and it has similar aspirations this time, but as I said, I expect a very open game here.
