All of a sudden I had several players out of contract, so I have to pay a lot more money, I had a bid for a player in and because its highest I cannot withdraw it. How is that fair :S so what if I got the highest bid, I dont see why that should remove the right to be able to withdraw an offer.

It's good that you can't withdraw your offer. You also have to think at the other manager. He puts his player on the list, receives a good bid and all of a sudden that manager withdraws his offer. They implemented this rule to be sure that this doesn't happen. If you bid on a player, it means that you really want him, so why would you cancel it?

Exactly correct KRCGenk.
It was a good implemenatation for two thinks.
1. People have to be interested to offer.
2. People put their transfer request at the price they want so both managers get a good offer.

It was to add depth to the squad, but with lots of contracts now needing to be renewd (which I dint notice till now cos I been on holliday) I thought it would be best to wait before signing someone.
Also what if someone accidently put in a higher offer then they wanted, like adding a 0 by accident to make it 10mill instead of a mill ?

I don't know if the rule still exists, but it is impossible to raise your bid (or maybe the highest bid so far of an other manager) with more than 8 times. This way you can't put a 0 too much, because that would off course mean that you raised your bid 10 times.howie wrote:It was to add depth to the squad, but with lots of contracts now needing to be renewd (which I dint notice till now cos I been on holliday) I thought it would be best to wait before signing someone.

Well, look at it the other way then. You put in a bid because you're interested in a player. The guy has set the price he's looking for and the bid is to his satisfaction, but he doesn't accept it because he has no incentive to. Then some retard bids 1 euro higher than you right before the time limit expires and you don't get the player.krcgenk wrote:It's good that you can't withdraw your offer. But in the meantime, you've had that money tied up and been unable to look at other players, work on your stadium, or figure out what path you should take in your contract negotiations.
Again, the argument works both ways. If you put a player on the transfer list at a certain price it means you want to sell him at that price. So why would you drag your heels accepting a good offer? If you drag your heels or gamble that you might get a higher bid, then there should be a risk that the offer can be withdrawn on you.krcgenk wrote:If you bid on a player, it means that you really want him, so why would you cancel it?
- How about setting it up that you can withdraw any bid that has been there for more than 24 hrs?

You're right, I also thought of that. Some managers just log in a few minutes before the simulation of 4 am and offer 1 € more than the highest so that they are 100% that the player is theirs. Maybe you can solve this, but it will be difficult and complicated.Paul_G wrote: Well, look at it the other way then. You put in a bid because you're interested in a player. For example: if someone places a higher bid in less than 4 hours before the deadline, the deadline will be expanded for 1 day. But the only team who can bid is the team that was overbid by the team that made that late offer.
I know it's very hard to implement and that the developpers need to find another way if they want to do this. but you're right when you say that managers can abuse this rule. And postponing the final date can be a solution, but it isn't so simple as HT. (just an example)

but i believe its fair to the player who bids for the player before simulation(in one minute time)at 4am.why? cos he has put the effort who waits and bid...so if everybody does that than whoever close the deal(right when the simulation starts) should get it...then the rest : you have to say its just no luck cos its same as the free players who ever give more salary secure the player..so its fair.....they want the player so much they bother to wait right before the simulation and the rest who dont do their homework will lose out...thats life right>>>>..
eg: if iwanna buy a bicycle and its will only sell at 4 am...(expensive bicycle)at lower price......i will wait for it...and i believe theres definitely will have some queue.so in order to be 1st in the queue i waits at 2 am.another words whoever do the extra work will have the bicycle...so its fair

It's not fair at all. It sucks (no offense)... here's why:ezzyezzy wrote:but i believe its fair to the player who bids for the player before simulation(in one minute time)at 4am.why? cos he has put the effort who waits and bid...so if everybody does that than whoever close the deal(right when the simulation starts) should get it...then the rest : you have to say its just no luck cos its same as the free players who ever give more salary secure the player..so its fair.....they want the player so much they bother to wait right before the simulation and the rest who dont do their homework will lose out...thats life right>>>>..

1. We're all over the world here. The 4 am sim for one person might be a 7 pm sim for another player, giving that player an unfair advantage.
2. It's against the spirit of the game, rewarding players who happen to be on the site all the time at the expense of good, but more casual owners. Some owners can't or don't want to sign on more than once a day and they shouldn't be unfairly penalized like that. I mean, if we're gonna go there then I should receive advantages because I've paid to be a member, because paying to be a member shows dedication to the game just like logging on all the time shows dedication to the game. I don't want special advantages of course, it's just an example.... but any owner who checks his team once per day should be able to play this game competitively.
3. Tactics like that will hurt this game in the long run, because people are going to stop putting serious bids on players when they first get transfer listed because its a waste of time. They'll just get outbid or sniped at the last minute. I've only been playing for about a month and I already know not to bid on a player unless I want to watch him (that is, put in a low bid so that I can keep an eye on the offers and the owner can't pull him back) or he's in the last couple of days before the deadline.
